Added some back up lights. We load our trucks in the dark a lot in the winter. Added rigid ignite flush mount and tailgate light bar. Baja design work lights on my headache rack. I ran a dual relay with a switch panel so I can turn on lights when not in reverse and they operate as well in reverse.

Those look good, i was thinking of a set of rigid flush mount. You just wire it into the existing?

No I ran a relay system. So I can override and turn them on anytime from another switch. Here is what I did if your interested

I used that wire to trigger the relay. I wanted to turn the lights on when not in reverse.

Yes, I don't read electrical schematics. It's like shorthand to me.

Lmao yeah I will.

The relays are powered from the battery with a 15amp fuse inline. Pretty much making the relays its own power source and always have power.

I have a switch in the cab that triggers the 1 relay. This switch will need to be 12v to trigger the relay. Just a standard switch from the battery would work.

Reverse light at the back of the truck. I used the trailer plug as it was right next to my relays to trigger relay 2.

I am using reverse wire and switch as a signal to operate the relays. This will make sure you don't have any back feed issues if both signal are tripping relays.

Here are the relays I used if you match the number from my picture above at least most relays are numbered the same.

If i end up doing that I'll probably connect them to my aux switches. Anyone know if the 5 pin relay accepts 2 inputs to activate? I was thinking it would be nice to be able to turn them on with a switch or reverse lights. I could just add a diode but wasn't sure.

If concerned add a diode to each signal feed and you can use as many as you want

I added rear lights to come on/off when in reverse gear or with my Aux Switch. You don't need relays or diodes. Here's what I did on my 2020 3500 HO.

It will not. 5 pin relay is a NO or NC. NC is the 5th wire you will have to you my method or get some diodes.

You could use diodes I decided I didn't want to as I had relays but no diodes lol

That a lot of wire splicing and I prefer not to mess with the oem wire harness. If something were to wrong I am on a separate system.

You may have misread my attachment. The only OEM harness splice I did was the trailer connector "reverse" black wire. The Curtis adapter is the alternative if you don't want to mess with the OEM harness.

Which tail gate light bar is that?
