Hello,

If anyone has any advice please jump in, I would value your input.

2013 Alpine unit

I am upgrading to -

Sub - Jl Audio W1v3 8" 4 ohm in OEM box
Sub Amp - Audio Control ACM 1.300 175w @ 4 ohms
Audio control AC-LGD 60 60ohm dummy load for stock unit to see.

No Amp
Dash - 3.5" Infinity Ref 3032 CFX 3ohms
Rear roof tweeter - JBL club 750T 3/4" 3 Ohms

I was going to upgrade the 6x9s in the doors, but from what I have gathered not much seems to be gained on the Alpine units. If I am wrong please let me know.

Was thinking about these three 6x9s
Kappa 93ix 6x9 front & rear
JBL GTO 939 front & rear
Kicker 46CSC6934 front & rear

Was hoping the Audio Control ACM 1.300 amp would be good using the woofer wires as inputs because they state repair for roll off
Some have said to just use the Pac Amp Pro AP4-CH41

AC AC-LGD 60 not sure if this is needed, for the amp dummy load.
i have been driving around with no sub in the truck and the unit is operating fine with the sub currently in my house.

Waiting on things to arrive,
Decided to go with CDT 6x9s CL-69S for the front doors, current black Friday sale half off through the weekend.
They only play up to 7,000Hz so didn't want to use them for the rear doors.
Hoping they will cover the front mid bass nice, 50-125Hz i believe on the front door Alpine oem crossover settings.

Also going with PAC Amp Pro 4 AP4-CH41 for the Sub and just in case i want to toss a small amp on the front & rear in the future.

Based off what I could find on the web below, not sure if the info is correct but based off listening to the system it seems correct.
OEM Alpine cross over specs
Front dash 125Hz to 20,000Hz
Front doors 50Hz to 125Hz
Rear doors 125Hz to 15,000Hz
Rear headliner 15,000Hz to 20,000Hz
Subwoofer 30Hz to 100Hz

Think I found the wiring diagram ( not 100% ) if anyone knows for sure that would be awesome.

looks like a JL Audio 8inch W1v3 will fit perfect. This is a 4 ohm driver so you will need a simple amp. Like a Audio control ACM 1.300 or Kicker Key etc.
The JL is 1/8" taller and the magnet is wider but still fits in the box flush.
Measured the OEM alpine woofer at 3 3/4 inches tall and the JL just 1/8in taller ( 1/8 from the underside basket that lays flat on the box to the bottom of the magnet.)

The gasket on the JL is of better quality so that will add a very small amount of height almost making them equal.

Just posting this because i could only find alpine and Kicker woofer swaps, probably because they are 2 ohms and make it a better swap without the addition of an amplifier.

Just to add for informational purpose, looks like the Alpine OEM is 1.8 Ohm dual coil.

I got some Infinity Kappa693 6x9's and they state 2.5 Ohm and they are close at 2.8 Ohm.

Also got this helpful doc from Crutchfield. They are really good for specs and research. Just wish they competed a little better on prices.

Were you able to fit those kappas in the front doors? I tried the gto 939s (same speaker for all intents and purposes) and they would not fit

Just received them today, 6x9 spacers will be here tomorrow I believe. Will give update

I plan to put them in the rear and CDT 6x9 CL 69S slim in the front door. Going to test them in the front to see if they fit and compare to the CDT slim and the winner will go in :)

The stock speakers actually sounded really good as they were tuned by the alpine dsp/amp...believe it or not they were really great. The cdts are a step above that. I have my cdts amped with a kicker key. Without them amped you might not even notice a difference other than a drop in volume due to the cdts requiring more watts.
tho keep in mind I love the cdts so far, I'm just not getting the most out of them because I haven't changed the HU yet and am unable to tune them. It's actually been bothering me lately and I'm about to pull the trigger on changing the HU with a built in x over /eq.

Yea i broke down and picked up a Pac Amp Pro AP4-CH41 so i could get un filtered signal prior the the Alpine doing its thing. I don't want to change the deck is possible. We will see how that goes. was hoping to power from the stock unit but i most likely will amp the sub and front and rear doors.

i figured with this i still have the ability to only use for the sub for a clean signal and use a key or Audio control amp after the alpine or just feed RCA from the PAC unit.

Just dont want to lose any chimes etc by bypassing

You won't lose any chimes or anything with the pac amp pro. But if you do decide to amp the front doors/dash I believe you will need a ch-01 in addition to the amp pro from PAC....my memory is a litty fuzzy from when I ordered it...but I know I ordered it along with the PAC amp pro and used it, I just can't remember why I needed it lol

Curious how all this turns out for you. Especially the sub.
I'm in the process of colleting parts to do something similar. Going to put the Kicker 8" sub in the stock Alpine box with a dedicated amp. Already have an aftermarket head unit. Planning to leave the speakers alone.

Well, got the flu or something that laid me out for a few days.

Just managed to get all 3 dash 3.5in and front and rear 6x9s in.

Infinity reference 3032 cfx went in fine.
Note: dash harness is different from the door harness so that held me up because I thought they were all the same.

The 6x9s on the doors
Front CDT CS69S had to cut out a small amount of plastic due to the magnet size.
Didn't like that but oscillating tool made quick and easy work.

Same with the Kappa 693 for the rear.
Except the Kappas tweeters come with a fixed angle on them making them taller from magnet to tweeter. So the tweeter is touching the plastic on the door panel when installed. Shouldn't hurt anything but.....

Also I ordered half inch 6x9 spacers for the front and that is too big a 1/4 in spacer is perfect but I didn't event need one after I cut the plastic inside the door.

Everything sounds really good running off of the stock amp.

Next need to wire up new amp and sub.

Side note, I found the the floor board under the stock woofer area a little wet and tracked it back to a crappy seal on the 3rd brake light. I guess this is a known issue with Rams.

This one is a little thicker and is like a rubber foam way better quality.

Ordered a new one that is really nice if anyone needs one.

All done. Sounds really nice. Amp fits under the passenger seat no problem, removed jack probably will never use those small danger Jack's anyways.

I think I may remove the CDT 6x9 in the front. Sitting in the back sounds better than the front. I think it's because the Kappas in the back are full range and the front CDT are only 7khz. Kappa in rear sound really clean.

I did swap all 3 3.5 in dash but left them powered off stock amp. The doors 6x9s are powered off JL amp.

Also I did get PAC APH-CH01 AmpPro Harness it made it way easier to intercept the wires for the doors. I was going to run new wires to the doors but.... the doors have connectors making it a real challenge to run new wire all the way into the door. So I just ran new wire to the stock amp and intercepted wiring with the PAC harness.
