Obviously there's plenty of drivetrain and suspension and whatever other differences between them, but just out of curiosity, what are the differences on the actual bodies between 4th gen 1500 and 2500s? Looks to me it's just the front clip (from the fenders forwards).

Pretty much other than there is not a 5'7" bed or quad cab option on the 2500. The hood, grill and bumper configurations were different.

The new HDs are still the 4th gen body as well. Just got a refresh and a bunch of the 5th gen 1500 interior bits.

um..nope

Comparing a 1500 crew cab w/6.4' bed to a similar HD trucks, the main differences are the hood, grill, headlight trim pieces, fog lights w/brackets and bumpers. The front clip structure of all the cab configurations are the same, so it's possible to do a HD swap on a QuadCab truck also.
The swap has been done a few times and been posted about, here's one:

I don't see why the fenders would be different

the 1500 4th gen has an upper valance between the grille & chrome bumper

the HD Rams only have a small space filler under the headlights
The chrome bumper is taller & the grille, i believe is is also taller

On the frame, the Horns are also different

On a 4th Gen...the fenders are not different.

On the 2019 and newer trucks they are.

yes you will need 2500 hood, grill, bumper and bumper parts which are several
fog light bRACKET bumper brackets etc....

heres the things you nee for the bumper except for #12 on list that you dont need
View attachment 334861

hood and grill are plug in play but bumper is the only issue on this you need several guys to get that bumper aligned and other guy in the bottom to weld you have to cut a piece of your frame and weld the hd brackets into that is a pain but worth it

and if you shop around you might get it cheap as i got the hood from a local junk yard shop around ebay was a great help

if your interested shoot me a pm and can explain to you how you need to do it

um..nope

Lol. Sure it’s possible, just like men becoming women and vice versa. Can it be done, yes. Should it???

The 6'-4" beds are identical. So bed canopies etc. will fit both a 1500 and a 2500.

Thanks for the info, they're a little closer than I thought. I'd love to swap mine to an HD front end someday but $2k is a hard number to justify for a purely cosmetic upgrade, lol. I did hear in a facebook group somebody does make conversion brackets for the bumper so that would make it considerably easier.

2500's just look massive compared to 1500's, I think. My Powerwagon has 35's and a 1.5 leveling kit, and a guy a work that parks next to me sometimes has a Ram 1500 Rocky Ridge, with 37's and my truck still sits a little higher. And just plain looks massive compared to that truck, body wise.

Not knocking it at all tho, I had a Ram 1500 Rocky Ridge, it was a great truck, I loved it, the stereo just sucked,
