Its called hi tax rates thanks to Justin Trudeau

Maybe, I'm not a fan of him in the slightest, but we've had massive price differences since the 80's and probably earlier but that's as far back as my memory goes. A large part is due to the difference in the dollar(s), but $35 vs $15 is just nuts, something else going on there.

Yeah that is something other then taxes, although taxes can account for general differences between euro/cana and the US, just as stephan, and those differences can be rather large. There is a state of flux for everything right now, even in the states, the number the gov uses for inflation doesnt closely match individual product price increases. No kidding a small box of oreo's was 7.29 up well over 100% from last year. There is sticker shock so bad on many items, and then others havent increased past ten cents = flux. My guess RP supply is running dru and they are letting it run out, maybe for good hopefully not. For guys who really like that 20-500 the list is long, the price just went up 3 bucks from that deal.

I have a 2022 dt 4x4 and recently bought the rp 10-48 and the 20-500.
The 10-48 fit fine but the 20-500 was a bit too tall and hit the steering case.
I also bought the fram xg-2, 10575, and the 10060 to test and the xg-2 I really had to work to get it in, kinda mash a wire loom and it sits very close to transmission lines almost touching. The xg 10060 was no problem, and the 10575 is taller than the 10060 and it also fit, I kept the 10575 on it.
Great info for DT owners looking at bigger filters.

Seems the XG2 might be a tad bigger than the typical RP 20-820, SRT, Wix 57899XP size. Finding actual dimensions on the SRT filter is proving difficult which is my only frame of reference for the larger filter.

Edit: Found the answer shortly after this post on a Hellcat forum. The SRT is 3.831" tall, XG2 is 4" tall. Not enough room to safely run the XG2 on the DTs I'm afraid.

relocate kit?
One day, but funds are tight now. Going back to SRT or Wix clone 57063 (both claim 20 micron synthetic blend?), or Fram XG 10575. My intervals are 6 months, below 5,000 miles severe duty, short trips. I could always throw on a rock catcher waiting for 20-820 re-stock. I really hope RP doesn't mess with the construction of that filter when/if it comes back

Even though wix has some micron issues, I'd say there must be some benefits the other way as far as chatter goes, especially with the RP out of stock and so few options, these do enter as another choice. If I has some, lifter chatter or tick especially at start up on other filters, I'd try a wix to be honest. I'd rather have cam lobs not getting demolished then worrying about microns. Not saying it would be my first second choice, but I'd use it before paper and maybe even a blend.

I can still get the 30-8 Royal Purple that works on my truck, but holy **** the price on it has gone through the roof.I still have a couple in stock, but once they're gone,i might be switching to another filter.
Has anybody thought of swapping the filter nipple out for the older style 3/4-16 nipple,as far as i know the older nipple is still available. That would open up some options as far as filters go

those are sold out here, if you like them 50 smokes worth, I'd get a few. Writing is on the wall, rp has some deep issues as far as their filters go.

Did some vulture capitalist buy up RP, or some such? That's how they've been behaving the last 6 mos. or so.

I mean, the supply chain is starting to be restored at the same time RP is going AWOL with product.

Looked into Fram XG2 vs Amsoil EA011, looks like the Fram comes out on top slightly with more filter media surface area, and more inlets, identical 20 micron filtration, but slightly weaker can side strength and 12 psi bypass filter instead of 15 on the amsoil.

Both use silicone anti drainback valve and wire backed synthetic media.

If RP is no longer available, think I'm sticking with fram xg2.

Rick has a bypass or relocation kit, that is why he can run that filter. I don't think that filter will fit a ram unless I am mistaken? 30-8a

Oh yes, I have a remote filter set up that uses the 3/4-16 thread mounted on the frame. I'm running that 30-8A filter currently.

I ordered 3 more and 3 of the RP cartridge filters for my wife's Pentastar V6.
