Yep those numbers are from the door sticker. Also cross checked using VIN online and when to that VIN decoder website to get the same numbers showing up. My understanding is the gassers have more payload capacity than the diesels but obviously Diesels more hauling power via torque. Haven’t checked the curb weight of my truck. I think GCWR is around 21,400 or so. Online says my truck (forgot to mention 4WD) should weigh around 6,800 lbs.
Since your gvwr is 10000 and your payload is 3014, curb weight is 10,000 - 3014 = 6986 assuming you have nothing in the truck that wasn't in it when it rolled off the ass3mbly line and had its sticker applied. But I'm still trying to figure how a Laramie is liter than a Bighornnwith the same engine..mine is a 6.4 too

My Tradesman has 3116 payload. Hard to believe a Laramie only has 102lbs less payload.

Mine is a Tradesman by name and has 2973lbs payload. But mine is more like a Big Horn having the Outdoorsman and Off Road packages. Mine has the full console, power sliding rear window, etc but yeah, hard to believe a Laramie is lighter than mine.

I guess I’ll to take it to the weigh station then. VIN decoder, door sticker are all showing the same number.

There is so much to consider , take your time do your homework . Rv dealers will tell you you can pull anything with your truck . The manufacturers specs are you starting point . Ram tells you the truck specs then go to the trailer site . You can find most the specs there for the rv .
Alot of people see the unloaded weight and figure good to go . I personally look at the max trailer weight and use that number , it's more realistic.
In the end it's your choice but remember if you exceed any of these specs and get in an accident your insurance company may not cover you , any excuse not to pay . Good luck.

I am a full-time rver. Been through/to 27 states and so forth. We started with a TT 32' and then upgraded to a 5th wheel at 42' in length and kept same truck.

Here are keys weights you need to know of and to stay in:

Trucks GCWR = truck and trailer TOTAL combined weight
Trucks Curb/Dry weight
Trucks Wet/Load weight
Trucks Payload

Trailer/5th Wheel Curb/dry weight
Trailer/5th Wheel Wet/Load weight

My truck is a 15 RAM 2500HD 4DR. 6.4' Bed 4x4 6.7L Cummins, my specs are:

GCWR: 25,300lbs
Curb/Dry weight: 7,310lbs
Trucks Wet/Load weight: 10,000lbs
Trucks Payload: 2,690lbs
Max trailer weight: 17,510lbs

My 5th wheel is a 17 Forest River Wildcat 38MBX 41.5' in length w/4 slideouts

Curb/Dry weight: 11,187lbs
Trailers Wet/Load weight: 13,609lbs
Hitch weight: 1,100-1,200lbs

So for GCWR, if both were maxed out to their limits both together combined weight would be 23,609lbs. A 1,691lbs under the TOTAL combined weight allowed to be safe and legal.

From the trucks curb/dry weight you have to account for everything in the truck like: fuel, coolant, oil, passenger(s), luggage, coolers, hitch, anything that is not part of the curb/dry weight. So all that I just mentioned plus curb/dry weight equals new trucks weight then add hitch/pin weight and hope your under the trucks max Wet/Load weight.

For hitch itself I use Anderson Hitch, super strong, lightweight and super easy to hook up to compared to standard 5th wheel hitches.

This is your best bet. And exactly where to start. You should load your truck exactly how you would tow with all people, gear, and hitch in truck. Things like aftermarket running boards, bed cover, rims and tires, bumper guard, etc. all subtract from towing capabilities.

Get your axle weights and and subtract the total from your GVWR. The remainder is going to tell you what your trailer can be in terms of hitch weight. Be careful with toy haulers, correct loading and distribution of weight is important so that you don't exceed GCWR and also to not have too much weight behind trailer axles.

when I was 2500 shopping I planned to get a 6.4 laramie ccsb 4x4 and I saw many with 3000+ cargo cap. my son eventually convinced me to go dsl and it only has 2100# but that works for my 5th wheel. It pulls effortlessly but I would still have been ok with a gasser.
