Greetings! I recently bought a 2019 1500 new style with the regular hood. I would like to swap out the hood for the sport hood but I have the chrome grill and bumpers and I don’t plan on doing them too. I think the black vents would clash with the chrome. Has anyone painted the black inserts? Does the paint stick without chipping and peeling over time? Pictures of what you have? Black and chrome? Painted inserts?
TIA

I can't help you with the pics but if you're going to paint those inserts I would clean/strip them, scuff them up pretty good, clean them again, and then use some plastic adhesion promoter like this.

Dupli-Color CP199 Clear Adhesion Promoter Primer - 11 oz. https://a.co/d/3kbrEvj

Leave then black and get rid of the ugly chrome crap. Will look 1000x sharper
The blacked out needs to go away, it's been done way too much. You know it's time to move on when a black out option is available on econobox vehicles

My ‘12 was white and blacked out. I stuck with another white pickup just this time the ivory tri coat. My’12 was blacked out and this one has the chrome. I just think the black sport vents would be tacky with all the other chrome. I don’t want to spend the cash on grill bumpers mirrors etc either. But I don’t want to paint the vents if they will just chip away over time. That and I have never seen them painted. Would be unique.

I didn't say anything about blacked out, I said leave the inserts black and get rid of the ugly chrome...... Nothing beats color matched bumpers and mirrors etc with a few black accents. But as for the blacked out look, that will never be over done. Chrome on the other hand, that's severely overdone and really only belongs on old muscle cars with moderation.

i don't understand why they put so much garbage on these newer vehicles

every body line cost a fortune in an accident, designers have way to many body lines, even in a simple thing like a tailgate
Body shops will tell you that it is cheaper to buy a new shell & use the old hardware
