Bought my truck new a couple weeks ago. Was looking around underneath and saw this bolted to the frame on the passenger side. Any ideas what this might be. I’m guessing it was used during the assembly process and maybe should have been removed. It’s made of hard rubber.

It's the counter weight to offset body roll from engine torque. It's normal to be there

sound & vibrations travel along the frame, one name for those is a Frame Dampener

The first time that i ever saw a similar device, was on a 1 ton dually pickup, that had a Tommy Lift on it

Makes sense! Thanks. I guess I’ll leave it there. I’ve already ripped off the extra air damp and motor off the front. If I wanted gas mileage, I wouldn’t have bought a 5.7 V8 motor. Next is the silly shutters in front of the radiator. It’s not a diesel and I live in Texas. Do not need quick warmups. I also would like to run a cooler thermostat. Thanks again.
