'21 in Diamond Black Crystal Pearlcoat (Night Edition). It's beautiful when clean, for about 3 days, then she's a dirty girl again. Any scuffs show up easy as well. Still, I don't regret it.

From someone whos had a black truck for almost 10 years now, if you don't like cleaning your truck often pick another color. It looks amazing when its clean, and I do mean amazing. Then, an hour or two later when its dirty again youll want to wash it again.

Also every little scratch shows on a black vehicle. It makes the truck hot in the summer but in the winter all you have to do is park it in the sun and expose some paint to melt the snow off the truck.

FWIW if I had to do it over again I would pick a different color.

Have Black, always looks dirty unless it's just washed. Don't EVER use an automatic car wash. Black will show the eventual paint swirls faster and worse than any other color. Laser wash or Hand wash only. If you want a color that always looks the same, buy a White truck. It always looks terrible.

I have a 2019 2500 night edition with the granite crystal metallic and is is awesome. It doesn't look dirty unless it is really dirty, it doesn't show scratches like black does. Either color is beautiful when totally clean. Either color you choose, I would get it polished and a ceramic coating on it right away. I did mine myself. It will help with keeping it cleaner looking.

Nope. Unless it's got a golden screaming chicken on the hood, no more black vehicles for me. And no black vehicles at all for anything I'll actually drive fairly routinely.

Never had a black, until now.
Figured, why not?
Buddy buys only black trucks and lives on gravel.
Found out, that's the Secret.
Truck ain't never going to be clean, so never worry about it being dirty.

I rarely drive gravel.

EDIT:
If I had to do it all over again. I would.
While I want my truck to look sharp, which it does after I run it through a Touchless Car Wash, far more concerned with Drivetrain/Options than Color or how pretty it is. Besides, when clean, nothing looks as nice.

The only reason I have a black truck is because it was the right price at the right time.

But, it does look really dang nice when its all polished and shined up, that is for sure!

Would not recommend if you have a choice though

I had a black 18 2500 that I bought used. Owned it for 2.5 years. I ordered out a 22 2500, which I received a couple of months ago now. Ordered the same color. I already knew all about black, since the wife had a black Escalade for a number of years. Black is high maintenance as far as washing, but no color looks better, IMO. I haven't had much issue with scratches. Mine is not a daily driver, so I don't have to wash it a lot. Not that I mind washing it. I keep all of our vehicles clean. A California car duster helps a lot too.

When I ordered the 22, I was torn about getting the black or patriot blue. I think I'd have been happy with the blue too, but it's also pretty dark and would no doubt have the same issue of looking dirty quickly.

My truck is granite with night edition. and have had many black cars/trucks.
I don't care about the outside, only the inside.

I always go back to black. I’ve tried other colors, but … love the black. My 25 year old daughter once told me when I was debating colors on my next Ram said that “most colors when dirty are not cool. But a ********* truck is cool when it’s spotless, but also cool when it’s dirty. A dirty red truck is just a dirty truck.“ so I’m always black now. LOL. I still wash my truck often Enough because a clean black truck is beautiful. My next Ram will get a ceramic coat though, to help keep the swirls down.

I bought black due to the one being on the lot was optioned just right. Ceramic coating helps keep it clean. Only problem is it brings out the flake and in the direct sun, looks like a bass boat.

Just remember pollen season... I wouldn't purchase a black truck. As many stated they look good that first day after a wash but that's it. Think hard about this. Good luck.

It does match my bass boat a little in that way!

The flake in my 22 black 2500 is for sure much more noticeable than it was in my 18 black 2500.

Why does a white truck always look terrible? You just said a black truck always looks terrible.
