The lights and horn will flash/beep a few times when I am power washing my truck. It seems to be the same or similar responce to when you're filling your tires with air and the truck determines you've filled them enough to turn the TPMS warning off. But I just can't figure out why it does it when I'm power washing the outside of the truck.

Does anybody know? Doesn't really bother me, but I'm very curious to find out why it does this.

Take your fob out of your pocket when you're washing your truck and place it somewhere that's not in range of it. LOL

Don't know for sure what causes it but both the Grand Cherokee and my pickup do it. I think Travelin my have something as mine seems to do it when spraying a door handle or the rear hatch handle on the Jeep. I don't get any horn honks but do get the light flash. Both have proximity entry, both are programmed not to horn honk until lock is pressed twice. I have never worried about it as it doesn't lock the doors or anything else goofy.

Read my post above yours. It's because you have the fob within close proximity of the vehicle, and the water is simulating you touching the door handle. Leave the fob in the house (or at least out of range) and it won't happen anymore.

I saw yours after I posted. Makes good sense. It is what Travelin postulated too and matched what I was seeing once I thought about it. In my case, I wash my vehicles at the wand wash. At -40, doing it on the driveway doesn't work so good.;)

Leaving the Fob somewhere doesn't really work, but like I said, you see lots of cars at the wash that the lights flash. Doesn't cause any issues so have never worried about it. Thanks for the info though, good to know why it happens.
