new to the forum, bought the truck new in ‘19 just got a 3.5” lift with 33 x 13.5 x 24. Do I need to get a tune or is that just 35’s and up?
I put on the Eibach Stage level lift. It’s 3.5” front 1” rear. My factory tires were the equivalent of 33” I went up a little to the equivalent of 34”. Using apps that track actual speed my indicated speed is now actually correct. With factory tires it was off slightly.

It’s not the tires it’s the rims I like bigger tires but not bigger rims they are to easily damaged on our crappy roads 24 inch rims don’t leave a whole bunch of sidewall

I am old school, but have never understood the attraction of lifting trucks.
Now it is harder to get in, and more top heavy. Bigger tires mean less power and speedo that is inaccurate.
It looks good on your truck though.

Bigger tires mean more ground clearance and a bigger contact patch it’s not the tires it’s the rims that are easily damage you Can correct the speedo and power loss depends on what you are doing with your truck on what you need my truck is my daily driver so to big of tires isn’t great but I do like to camping and 4wheel in the summer I find 35s a good match for what I want to do

The season of giant potholes is coming to Edmonton the grader’s rip chunks of asphalt up leaving sharp edges that destroyed tires and rims the city of Edmonton pays out a lot of money every year for damage to peoples tires so if the roads are better where you live go with it

Nice looking Ram. I like the stance :waytogo:

Im in agreement that depending upon how, and where your going to use your truck that more ‘Sidewall’ will be big plus.

Stirctly a street cruiser…… not the case. Bad weather, off-road, etc… I’d go taller, which would mean 35-37”.

Again, great looking Ram.

I think that the giant rims all started with stomper toys people wanted their trucks to look like that but what works for toys don’t work for real trucks

You're still here talking about rim size? OP has never mentioned rim size, it's you who keeps bringing it up for no reason.

What is going on… I’ve hardly seen one constructive reply in this thread. I’m not a big fan of big wheel small tire personally, but if OP likes it, great, I’m happy for him! Now move on and quit posting 4 times a day about why you don’t like big wheels.

The original post was about correcting for tire size and the answer is no unless you have changed the overall diameter post s about rims is to maybe save op some bucks and grief if you have better advice let’s hear it

Yeah, thread is off track…
Op, if you increase your overall wheel/tire diameter + rolling friction + weight of tires/wheels it affects performance. Not just your speedo. Upgrade your brakes, better rotors/pads, but you prob don’t need new calipers. Easy. As for restoring performance and overcoming friction, you have two routes add HP/TQ or regear. Or both for the best result.
Or just be content with a great looking RAM thats smidge bit slower and a speedo that reads 3mph off than actual ;)

I have driven all over the West for 50 years in trucks that were all basically stock. Company trucks, personal trucks and rented trucks. Mine roads, Forest Service roads, BLM roads, private roads and no roads.
