The crappy Nexen tires that came with my new 2019 3500 have worn out after only 15,000 miles. Are they under the 36 month, 36,000 mile bumper to bumper Warranty? They have only about 1/8th inch tread left

Best factory tires I ever had were on this current E250. Hankook changed around 60K and still around 3/16 tread. Outlasted almost three transmissions.

A lot of complaints about the Nexans. I ran mine up to 38k. In September I ran a bolt through one and a random piece of steel through another inside of 10 days. (Both came off the parking lot at work where they had cut up two wrecked trucks for scrap) otherwise I would likely still be running them. Ran them in rain, snow and ice w/no issues But, I didn’t buy Nexans as replacements. I bought Goodyear Wranglers b/c I’ve historically had very good luck with them.

Your lucky, my nexens had two of the tires fail to due a broken belts in them at 14k miles on my 3500 dually. Contacted the tire company, and they wanted to give me some ridiculous amount towards some more of their junk tires..like $25. Had them all replaced with Nitto dura grapplers at the dealer for like $1200 for all six tires. Nexens have a very bad reputation as basically junk china bombs. They are especially vulnerable to failure on the front of the truck as the CTD is heavy.

And no FCA wont cover your tires.

Sounds like FCA really cut corners by putting such junk on such an expensive vehicle. I am not at all happy about that. ;-/

I am on one of the RV forums, and there are a lot of us that use RAM HDs for towing our Rvs. I read about the consistent failures at anything from 2k miles on up. Then mine took a dump one day not even towing, it just acted like there was something stuck in the tire...making a thumping noise, and causing a bad vibration. Others had outright sidewall blow outs for no reason. Yes these are the cheapest round tire they could find in order for it to roll off the production line.

Meh. They know the majority of people will upgrade the tire before very long anyhow. If I buy a rig in the late spring early summer, I’ll run the stock junk, if fall or winter, they never make it off the lot. Plus the price they would want to add would be a ton higher than buying them from a tire shop. Be glad they’re done and move on with new killer tires!

While filling up at Shell I took a long look at these Nexens, studying them closely. Of course, with the potted tread surface no wonder they are wearing fast. Inferior material. Cardboard mixed with the rubber, perhaps? But the sidewalls have a ribbed surface--likely to hide cracks, and the sidewalls therefore gather and hold dust badly, making for an ugly appearance.

If you read the information that comes with the vehicle the tires are covered by the tire manufacturer. This is true with Ram,Ford and GM. No Auto manufacturer covers the tires.

Yes, it sucks that they put garbage tires on these trucks. But, it has been a well published issue for a long time, so when I bought my '19 I already had a rancher lined up who gave me 100 a piece for them as new take-offs, and I went directly to the tire shop after taking delivery.

I recently looked at some GMC duallies and they had Michelins as OEM.

Nope. And, 1/8 is not "worn out", even though you say so. Minimum is 2/32 (1/16). Put proper pressure in those tires and rotate them every OCF or 5k miles, whichever comes first.

Buy some better tires and be glad They wore out.
Yep. My Honda Pilot came with the lowest quality Bridgestone's ever manufactured. Michelins went on next. I'm at 237K and bought some Coopers at Discount Tire. They're great.

Ram used to supply Michelin's on the HD trucks. They make a killing having the HD Cummins them made in Saltillo for a small fraction of the labor in the US.
To be honest my friend maintains F-350/F450's. He's had zero issues in 100K with the Powerstrokes. The Duramax's are plagued with sensor issues. They go straight to the dealer. Young employees drive these so you know they punish them big time once they're out of sight of the lot. I have a 2007 5.9 2500 Cummins. I've had one trip to the dealer in all these years and they fried the ECM doing the CARB K08 emissions TSB. STAR sent me another the next day.. The truck and camper are history in six months and a Honda Element will be my next truck. :) There's a war on the internal combustion engine in California thanks to the democratic supermajority in Sacramento. Everybody including liberals ***** about it while voting the same squids in. BTW our gas bill went up 35% here because Basement Biden froze drilling.
