Had the 8.4” Uconnect changed out on my 2018 Ram 1500 about a year ago due to screen delaminating. Recently, it’s been acting strange. Sometimes no satellite radio signal and messages pictured below. Also noticed when that happens, the navigation also does not know where it is. Before I bring it to the stealership was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue.CF6424A2-FF45-42FD-8B24-426AA73D4894.jpegCBA6F68E-E0F7-4FFF-95C9-BAEC7772E5B5.jpeg

Weird. Because sometimes it works fine. Can’t seem to establish when and why though

Mine did something similar (intermittent problems) and ultimately needed to be replaced.

Yeah. That’s what I was thinking. Would make sense why it works intermittently also. Add in that the stealership was the last ones to mess with the connections when they swapped out the head unit makes perfect sense that something may not have gone back 100 percent.

I have an appointment at the dealer after the holiday. Will update as to what they find.

Good luck with your appointment!
I purchased my 2022 Ram 3500 in Sept 2021. It has had the Ram UConnect radio station preset issue since purchase. It has been to the dealer 4 times with zero positive results but my frustration level has increased! That's a positive - right? All I hear from Ram is "The engineers are working on it and the next software update will correct the issue." Seems to me they need new engineers. I just got off the phone with Ram Cares (talk about an oxymoron!) and they literally said "A software update is coming the first quarter of 2023 that should fix it. Nothing else we can do." Everyone needs to report this issue and start wearing out Ram Cares and dealerships. I'm starting my 16th month of dealing with this serious lack of a sense of urgency to address this issue. Might be time to get rid of this thing and go GM product. All because of a radio...or is it lack of customer service? If they can't fix a radio, what if it's something really serious?

It's a known issue and if the dealer is unwilling to help you they'll quote around $1500 to replace. If you're still under warranty you may get lucky.

Contact @RamCares on the forums. Good luck, hopefully it'll work out for you.

I would ask the dealership if they will check to see if you have the proper software code installed, my 2022 came from the factory with the wrong code, while looking at why my compass was acting up the tech noticed that I had the wrong software code installed at the factory once changed all of the problems I was having with the Radio went way, it never hurts to ask..

it could be a radio issue but from what you are describing I would say probably the antenna would be the problem.both xm and nav use the same antenna.of course some dealers will throw parts at it first before diagnosing.

My 19" had similar issues and the dealership did two new file updates and it was marginally better, for a short time and then glitched again.

I then had a brand new head unit installed, not a factory reman... they uploaded the most recent software revision update and it worked great for a few moths and then bam... again it took a crap...

I had open care log ticket numbers with FCA, dealership case numbers, countless issues from day one of cutting out on my Sirius, screen going blank, not being able to connect my phone on Bluetooth, dropping calls while connected via Bluetooth, plus a few other issues. These all would come and go randomly.

I had enough, and as already wanting better sound and going to new Focal speakers all around, I then bit the bullet and bought a new Kenwood Excelon Reference double din head unit shortly afterwards and had it installed.

Now, no more issues and one hell of a better head unit that does everything, and more, that my old factory uconnect did.

I have 2022 1500 Warlock with the 5w 8.4 uconnect . It is possessed, Had it to dealer for 1st attempt to fix . They flashed it and so I set all the presets to the same station just to see what happens . 24 hours later still there , time will tell . Going back Monday because the the phone button doesn't do anything and the VR button will either open the device manager or if your moving it says unavailable while vehicle is in motion . If Android auto is connected I can make a call or get directions thru the VR button .
Hopefully someone will figure it out .

In the market perhaps in spring and I gotta tell ya, reading stuff like this is just putting a million doubts in my head. I just don't have the time or patience to be seeing the repair shop over and over. Worse yet is having only one vehicle which means every time the clowns have the truck I have to find rides, a rental, who knows what else. I'm at a loss to understand why I can have Mac computers for decades with nary a glitch and these manufacturers can't get a silly little display unit to function. Maybe I'll just go with the tiny deal that comes standard. Oops, forgot, if I want to add other options that has to be upgraded as well.
