Good evening all. I was told these trucks came with only 1 wiring harness and most anything you could find in a junked truck could be upgrade and added on with no problem. Is that true? I'm looking to add the factory brake controller, electric start and maybe another option or 2. Does anyone know exactly what I need to buy (have parts numbers, etc..) to make this happen? Thanks

Yes some things can be add but some vehicle information would be a good place to start.

It's a 2014 Dodge tradesman 4 wheel drive four-door, 5.7. I'm also wanting to level the truck out and jerk the bull bar off the front. Hopefully I can sell the bar to buy something to level it with. From what I've been reading, shock replacement is the way to go.

You would get more help if you posted in the 4th gen section. A lot of people have had numerous RAMs but many are like me where I've only had this 5th gen so am not familiar with previous generation trucks.

Infotainment has a lot of options for you to upgrade. They are pricey but are the OEM supplier for most of this stuff and it comes as a complete kit: https://www.infotainment.com/collections/all/2014-ram-1500

You can save some coin piecing projects together (and sourcing used parts from junkyards) if that's your thing.

As for what you need to upgrade I'm not sure. Most electrical/electronic items will need to be activated in the Body Control Module which most of us use AlfaOBD for.

Hopefully someone can chime in with more.

The Brake Controller wiring is already in place

It will need to be activated, by the dealership, or you can buy an ALFAOBD tool, it will pay for itself & you won't need to go to the dealership & wait for a appointment

Thank you all, I'll repost in the 4th Gen. Hope y'all had a great and safe Christmas. Exhaust is my next discussion, going for a deep rumble, throaty kind of sound. I want to get rid of everything I can without getting codes, like resignators, converters etc..

Yea you can add a lot of OEM features then you need alphaobd to activate them.
