I have ordered led 60 inch strips to install in the bed of my truck.
I have several options to wire strips in, but I would like to hook in to a port that the lights would come on When you unlock the doors or lock doors or you can turn them on with the switch in the cab.
Would appreciate any input that someone has to do this.
Someone has suggested that I go through the third brake light and wire it. I would rather not do that.
There is a fuse that I have found, and it says for bed lights. I’m wondering if I can hook up to that.
It’s on a 2022 ram 2500 heavy duty diesel.
Thanks for any input.

There maybe an OEM bed light kit available for the truck as it's an option.
Another option is to mount a switch inside the bed area and tap the +12V from the trailer 7 pin plug. I did this on my buddies '14 2500 when installing LED strip lights under the bed rail.

I did this years ago. I have the factory bed lighting and tapped into the wiring for those lights. Comes on when I unlock the truck and can be operated via the switch in the cab. Comes in handy under the tonneau cover.

I have a 2015 with a tailgate light bar. I hard wired into the backside of the trailer light plug. I believe it’s radco that makes a Y cable that plugs into the backside of the the trailer lights so you don’t have to hard wire. Both would allow the lightbar to come on anytime the brake lights/blinker/hazard/reverse are on. Hope this helps.

I have looked but didn’t find anything.
I’ll look above the spare tire today.
I found one small black wire that was coming from a harness the wire was not connected to anything.

I ran my LED bed lights to the Aux Switches, I could have did it from the switch in the back since I had factory ones but I went with red so when I'm hunting the white light don't go all over the place so I put it on the Aux switch

Yeah I researched that and I will do that if I can’t figure out how to wire it in straight to the switch on the light knob .
There is a fuse in the fuse box that’s marked bed light so I will try that first.
