Former Ram owner, current Ridgeline owner. I’m looking for something with a bigger backseat for two little ones. I don’t tow, just throw a dirt bike in the back and do some light off road driving to the riding spots. Coming from the Ridgeline, the trim and options are overwhelming. I basically just want the cheapest Ram 1500 4wd with adaptive cruise, all black (including the grille), power front seat, apple car play, and a spray in bed liner. I can’t really tell what comes with adaptive cruise control. Also, this works alright on my Honda; how is it on the Ram?

I’d also love to grab a used Ram, but fine going new if I have to.

You can try using Build a Ram website and entering various options. You get a price in the end.

BigHorn is the best optioned full size on the planet for the money. But as stated, you will need to do a build on RAMTRUCKS.com to see what trims have the options you want.

The higher trim models with more “car-like” creature comforts would be the models you’d be looking at. Theres a night day difference from where your coming from to what you are looking at.

Yeah I have, it’s hard to tell what models have adaptive cruise. Also hard to find the cheapest combination that gets all those features I listed.
Your most likely will want a Limited or Laramie, if you want help building one go to a dealer an have them build you one that you want then once you get a price sheet, take that sheet an price shop a few of the big dealers an see how much they can save you on price, one place that offers low prices on Special order trucks is: https://www.grangermotors.com/

+ Koons in Tysons Corner, VA. Another super high volume dealer just outside of DC.

I know it has been availabie in the 5th gen trucks since the "beginning" in 2019 but you need to get a Laramie or above to get it (Laramie, Rebel, Longhorn, Limited, or TRX). A Tradesman or Big Horn just won't cut the mustard for adaptive cruise control.

It is also in an options package so not all of them will have it.

"Cheapest" is a relative term based on what/how many options the truck has. Even though I don't have leather seats or adaptive cruise control my Big Horn MSRP is about $10K more than an entry level Laramie because of all the options I have (which is why I have a Big Horn - my budget was either a base model Laramie or loaded Big Horn...I went with the options).

I don't know about the 4th gen trucks though. A Google search shows that up through '13 they did not have it. I can see a couple of 2015 1500s that are for sale that the dealer claims they have it (lowest trim is a Laramie) so, if everything on the internet is true, then 2015-2018 trucks have that option potential, but I don't know about the '14 trucks. I do know that the Classic (4th gen starting in '19) does not have that option.

With that information along with the fact you want the least expensive option you are looking for a 2015-2018 RAM 1500 crew cab (there is no leg room for the back row in the quad cab) in a Laramie, Longhorn, or Limited trim that has adaptive cruise control option.

2019 is the oldest RAM with Adaptive Cruise, and yes you must choose the "advanced safety group" to get it. During my search for a pre-owned I found that you CANNOT rely on the dealer's description one way or the other. The two most reliable ways to "know" if a particular truck has ASG is to 1.) look at the on-line pictures and find the pic of the steering wheel to see if it has the correct buttons for ACC. or 2.) Grab the VIN and look up the window sticker at https://windowstickerlookup.com (just select Chrysler...it works for RAM also).

Super helpful, thanks guys. I’ll look around for higher end trim with it. Glad to know they have had it for a while!

I agree. BigHorn is the best value truck by far, especially when you combine it with the 0% APR that Chrysler had up until last month.
