I’m losing my confidence in LEDs in stock fog light housings. I have LEDs in my truck and the wife’s suv. They’re not bad in my truck, but she gets flashed all the time; they just throw light everywhere. But pull up to a wall and they’re aimed well…
I tried that route of LEDs in the factory fogs, they're sorta useless in fog and heavy snow.
I now have the DiodeDynamics SS3 Pro level SAE Fog lights and they're what a fog should be. The beam stays low and lights up the sides of the road wide. I've drove in near white out conditions with them, used just them for driving as the headlights were causing bounce back glare

I agree with crash68, if you want excellent fog lights, the Diode Dynamics S53 pro level is the way to go. They are not cheap, but as they say, you get what you pay for.

The way I understand it, If your vehicle didn't come with LED HEADLIGHTS from the OEM than it's illegal to swap them in. Not that it stops anyone from doing so and enforcement is pretty rare.

Well, I tried the Carifex anti blink box adapter with the Carifex LEDs and still getting a blink on and off though not as often. May have to go to HIDs.

So, after watching this review, I think Alpha Rex Nova might be the way to go for me. It appears to have the best side to side coverage, where deer and other potential road kill lurk.

I wondered the same, looked at options on headlight revolution and retrofit source. Watched youtube reviews, read stuff on here, it seemed to me hid kits had mixed reviews and leds generally positive. I think led is the safer route with less chance of headache if you just want brighter light. I ended up sticking with halogens for now but will probably get some leds in the future. I dont think brand is important for led, performance is all pretty similiar from what I saw. Street legal? It's kind of gray area but doesnt seem to be important, I couldn't understand the dot regulation when I read it and I doubt anyone else understands it either.
I have heard leds dont melt snow and most require extended dust cover caps.
If you go aftermarket headlight assemblies just dont do the amazon cheapos, do a reliable brand and you should be fine.
Do some research on the morimoto's . After watching friends buy the amazon stuff which is like a flood light and getting flashed for brightness all the time I went with the morimoto's on my 2500 with quad lights. They have a very good cut off, 3x the lumens as stock and the fan exhausts into the light housing and melts the snow off. Ever get flashed for brightness.

I have a 2015 Ram and run Farhen led bulbs and the Moroimoto kit, for 2015+ Rams. The Morimoto kit is a necessity as it alleviates flicker and bulb shut off.

I have a 2015 1500 with projectors. I'm interested in a high quality headlight upgrade. HID? LED? Complete aftermarket LED assembly? Brands? Models? I won't say that price is not a concern, but I'm willing to pay for a good solution. Are LED bulbs even (technically) street legal yet?

These lights from GTR lighting is what I run. They are amazing with light output and easy to install.

I tried the yellow morimoto headlights in my 2015, with and without the canbus adapter, and they woul randomly turn off either way. I do not have alohaob so I don't know if that would have helped or not. I contacted headlight revolution about the issue and they had me send the lights back for a full refund.

While "Best" is purely subjective, the Morimoto stuff is very good. If I were to upgrade my 2017 (2500 Laramie), it would be a "once and done" job with the Morimoto LEF system. Bright does not matter... optics do.

As mentioned before — I went with the Morimoto 2-stroke 3.0 L.E.D.’s for my projector headlights. Bad mistake — IMHO.

I have contacted Headlight Revolution to see if they’ll exchange them in place for some HID’s.

I am NOT a fan of the dead spots with these LED bulbs. So be sure and do your due diligence and put the time in researching the bulb output for your specific headlight housing.

Just my .02¢

I got the HID’s in my low beam projectors and LED Super Mini’s in the High beams. All from Headlight Revolution 55 watt 6000k on both with factor retrofit led fog lights. It’s excellent. The guys at Headlight Revolution will tell you what you need. $680 without the OEM fog lights.

That’s _exactly_ what I’m going to get for the low beams…

I went with the Diode Dynamics SS3 L.E.D. fogs (MAX, white) and could not BELIEVE the output!!!

My problem is so many folks upgrade but do not readjust the new headlight systems, or out here in N AZ they adjust them to high for all the back dirt roads so they can see farther, but blind everyone on the high way. Also add big wheel package and do not adjust.

Next how hard is it to wire in the hid lamps . I see they come with a like capacitor or something , electric is not my high point.

What I noticed is the beam pattern leans to the left and right into the eyes of an oncoming driver. This is especially bad when it's a dark rainy night or snowing. The oncoming vehicle blinded by your bright lighting is very likely to come across the centre line and take you out in a head on collision. I'm sure that most are not legal which will come back on you if there is an accident. I used to run headlighting called "Marshall" or something like that name, they are a french light and there pattern was almost stright out and flat and then tipped up to the right for the ditch. I ran them on my rally cars. High beams changed to two spotlights straight down the road. Beautiful night lighting. I don't see them here in North America anymore.. Cheers and safe driving.
