Just started today. Did it three times. The alarm randomly went off. Woke me up at 1100/a or so. (I work nights). Went off again around 200/p and just went off around 900/p.

I searched and found an article that said I just need to pull the fuse for it. Went to my owners manual as well as the back of the fuse box diagram and couldn't find anything in reference to this fuse.

I pulled the negative cable and will probably leave it off overnight and see if that resets anything.

Anyone else have this problem?

The key fobs are relatively new and are aftermarket. Don't think the batteries could be bad already. Both are about a year old. Only received 1 fob when I bought the truck used and the wife lost it

Thanks

Bob

Does the 2018 have a hood latch sensor? An often common cause of random alarms is the vehicle thinks someone popped the hood, but I am not familiar enough with your truck to know if it applies in this situation.

I have no clue. How would I determine if it does?

It should just look like a button that's pressed down when the hood is closed. Again, unfamiliar with your year, but it may be attached to the hood latch mechanism.

My neighbors truck was an older Ram and his alarm kept going off, replaced the hood ajar sensor switch and that resolved it.

It's not the latch itself, it's the sensor attached to it. It starts going bad so the alarm thinks the hood is open and sounds. This is far from the *only* possibility, mind you, it's just *a* possibility.

The wires to the latch sensor look good .. as far as I can see them anyway.. I do have a fuel pressure error code on my OBD thingy, but that’s been on for 3 months..I was hoping it was some kind of critter crawling on the motor yo keep warm at first , but the last 2 times the truck has been cold .. had a cold snap here last week though. -12 C. That’s cold for where I live . Might be related?

Ps. I’ve been through FOB discs coming loose and re- glued them ! That was epic gremlin action .. took my fob apart anyways and it’s still holding together properly

Just to eliminate a possibility ..

Wrap your FOB in Tin Foil when you are not using the truck,
Your FOB is always transmitting & your vehicle is always searching for a incoming signal.
Tin Foil or a metal box isolates the FOBs signal

That is what they call a Faraday Box
When a swimmer is going to leave the vehicle & go swimming or surfing. They remove the Valet Key from inside the FOB & the Valet Key is carried in a water proof pouch attached to the swim gear or a body part, neck, wrist, or ankle.
The FOB is placed in a Faraday Cage, which can be Tin Foil, & then placed some where in the vehicle.
It is basically like removing the battery from the FOB & hiding the FOB somewhere.

Maybe wrapping your FOB in Tin Foil will stop the Alarm from going off randomly.
If not, you can eliminate it as the possible cause.

Good Luck
