I have a 2015 limited and the subwoofer/amp is there, in mine anyway.

I am on my second Mega Cab and both have had that seeming wasted storage area. I use mine for computer/electronics cables, etc. Usefulness and imagination can sometimes be synonymous?
It is what it isn't?

A flugelbinder repair kit and a violin bow. Amazing how many times you will need one of those while driving.

I have the high end radio, and it is filled with the subwoofer stuff. Hardly any room left in that side. Other side holds the hitch.

I believe it is for the bottle jack and crank on the older gen4 mega cabs. I think they moved it under front passenger seat on gen 4.5. And kept all the same on all new ones saving money they used same old parts.

I had a gen 4 (2018) mega cab and now have a gen 4.5. It was exactly the same in both.
