Now they are saying i need a new engine, another engine? can u believe that, 3 engines in less then a year, is that even possible?
As stated above if you have truly gone through 3 engines that quickly than most likely there is another issue they are not fixing which is causing the engines to fail prematurely. Overall there are a LOT of variables and questions not answered on this thread. It's really not that hard for any halfway decent mechanic to do basic trouble-shooting on a cooling system. Again, what is failing on the engines? Is it the same failure each time? After the second engine failed and assuming from the same thing they should have been able to put 2 and 2 together and figure out what was going on.

NAH, all dat New Math they teach, how could U even draw a parallel and assumption? Ever see the silly boxes and lines they teach kids to do math now?> Geez. :anitoof:

Also, the new kids are not Mechanics, They R Technicians: Run a code and throw a part at sumthing, IMHO...

Something definitely F U B A R. If not cooling system, and they R throwing in Motors, could the ECU, brain be bad and telling engine to do bad things? Hmmm.
BET U they dumping in new motors and not changing out peripherally parts: Like Radiator, ECU's n such. ALL IMHO...

Evidently OP doesn't need a mechanic, he needs an exorcist.

They keep putting the same junk back in, You get the same results.
Something they R putting in just not kosher, gotta be the same part for all 3 motors, but maybe I just am a Senile Old BOIRD !!!
At 3 motors, maybe a 4th, my patience would not exist.

3 engines I hope you are not paying for them if they all died from the same thing I would say it is the radiator 3 bad water pumps thermostats cooling systems are not that complex the stock thermostat is what the engine is supposed to be at my truck goes between 96/98 c when the thermostat opens when it’s cold you can watch the temperature go up and down on the vehicle information screen

YUP, my temp will bounce between 199-208 ish F, and at times, bounce way up till E fan kicks in. Why when I park truck, always put on MAX Cool for like 2-3 minutes to bring temps down. Not so bad now, but usually runs hotter in winter as that Fan be on and blowing hard in summer, considering the temps be 100-110 F sometimes for weeks, LOL.

So the update on this matter is that the head gasket is blown, Jasper prefers removing the engine and sending a new one down. This is the 3rd engine in less then a year and I told both Jasper and the garage i take it to that i cant afford the labor or anything else at this point and its not fair to me for this non sense to happen 3 times in less then a year so bad news i have to get a rental for 5 days then I am able to borrow a friends car for the time the truck is complete which will be the 26th or 27th,the good news is that Jasper and the garage will be taking care of the labor 100%.

Glad they are taking care of it make sure the cooling system is looked over this time and if you ever overheat again shut it off right away.

They should be paying for the rental and give some sort of compensation for your time and grief

These days its hard to trust actual mechanics: HINT! Find a good mechanic BEFORE you need one!

Corrosion is what kills water pumps: HINT! Cavitation kills water pumps LONG before corrosion, typically.... Cavitation is due primarily from a cap which fails the maintain pressure!

Thermostats vary widely in cost. Why's that? Well, the quality of the materials in them is the difference. Do NOT chep out and try to save a few dollars on a cheap-o thermostat.

Do NOT polish the brass on the Titanic!

When you get it back, pull the radiator and take to a radiator shop for a complete checkout.

It has been a LOOOOONG time since Ive had to replace a thermostat in any of my personal vehicles. TBH I dont even think they fail all that much anymore since the advent of 100k mile coolant. Also its really hard to mess up a design of a thermostat..but even I wouldnt buy chinese food from the chinese. Ive never even heard of a water pump failing because of an excess of air in the line. If you have air in the line, then you have bigger problems..like a massive coolant leak. Something like that wouldnt go unnoticed very long unless you dont pay attention to anything in your car. Also wouldnt go very far.

New radiators are MUCH cheaper than having a radiator shop "check out" old ones. My experience as a professional and as a shop owner is that the "rebuilt" radiators fail at a copious rate, especially the re-use of the original plastic tanks, which get thermally weak over many, many heat cycles.

Try googling "pump cavitation" and you'll learn something new about air in an unpressurized cooling system, and how destructive it is.
