2010 5.7 Cooling system flushed and filled with Mopar coolant for that year. Is the orange Mopar the same coolant as Prestone orange Dex Cool or will it clabber up if mixed? No difference in price just availability here.

What would you recommend for a flush additive?

IMO the best HOAT coolant is the Zerex G O5 concentrate mix with Distilled water (do not use tap water) this is the same stuff many diesel owners use so you know its good coolant and to get the good boil over protection mix it at least 60/40, if you want the highest mix to 70/30...

Called the dealer to check price on Mopar HOAT for my 09 when I flushed it recently... tech tried to tell me dex was the same thing and to just go to autozone. Yeah right

I ended up buying the Mopar concentrate for about $23/gallon off amazon if that helps.

rmi 25, takes any slime in system and traps it in overflow tank, you need to remove it then. works exactly like that.

Thanks all.
U got some good advice there ref coolant,, MOPAR, proper one for your year. I buy concentrate and cut 50/50 with distilled, but put full strength in overflow. But my ride is a driveway princess with just 21K after 4 years, LOL. U can get away in TX with 50/50 unless U in the friggin Panhandle, gets a lot colder there.

What ever anti freeze that you decide to use

I would suggest:

Mark it under the hood, so that some one else does not put something else in the coolant system by mistake

My reason for using higher amounts of coolant i.e. 70/30 is that I like having higher boil over protection....

Use wateva works for you and gives you the required protection of your annual temp swings.

Buy the Concentrate an mix it your self with distilled water. FYI a gallon of concentrate and a gallon of distilled water is cheaper then 2 gallons of 50/50 premixed coolant... Also you can buy Zerex HD Extended Life OAT cheaper then Mopar coolant and its just as good, I used it both my 2006 & my 2022...
