Your other runs are 20 weight which is very stable viscosity, the reason I would like to see three uoas of the same viscosity in 5w30 weight is if the viscosity continues to climb, makes you wonder if something that was shredding viscosity is getting better, some sharp edge maybe in the oil galley. 5w30 redline usually is in twelves.

This is a bit of an odd UOA, it was 7 qts of PUP 5W-30 and a Royal Purple 10-48 for 3k miles, then changed to the remote filter mount with a Royal Purple 30-8A and 1 extra qt of PUP 5W-30 to fill to level for the next 3.8k miles. After the filter change was a camping trip with the camper, then an probably overloaded trip cross country pulling the camper. Oil change life meter was at 6% when changed, usually it's at that point well past 6.8k.

TBN already was low, and Boron seems high. Magnesium has been climbing, and viscosity is lower than my longer interval changes. I think it was ready to be changed for sure.

Very pleased to get results like that.
I did add Lubegard to this cycle of PUP. It shouldn't get worse lol.

I would have asked about that! PUP skimps on the moly additive (except for 0W-40).

I'm a proponent of preventive maintenance.

Just got my report back this evening! I always list lubegard in additional comments but they never say anything on the report. Looks good tho, this run had a 2k trip over the summer also.

I added Lubegard to PUP for this exchange. I will get it analyzed and we can see a good example of the affect it has on my numbers.

My copper was at 99. My miles are the same as yours. Should I be worried ?

Kind of curious, what oil are you running?

My copper was at 94 ppm when my oil was changed at 22,000 miles. But it's been steadily decreasing to the point where last UOA it showed 43 ppm at 44,000 miles.

I read somewhere a while ago that high copper could be coming from the "heavy duty engine cooling" system we have on our trucks. Not all rams come standard with that system, but I think all 5th gens do with the hemi.

No real reason to worry about high wear numbers in young engines. If there was an issue the lab would alert you. My copper was much higher then that in my last report.

Thanks Burla for the response. I am looking forward to my next Blackstone oil change report.
