**NEED HELP! PLEASE SHARE AND MESSAGE ME IF YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE**

I have a 2022 ram 3500 HO with 22,000 miles. It’s been in the shop four times for a P2459 code which is a regen frequency code since 17,000 miles. Chrysler has finally decided that fuel contamination has caused the injectors to fail resulting in more soot production. They have put a restriction on my truck and want me to pay $30k (confirmed each injector is $2400) to fix it before they will lift the restriction. They pulled their sample after the filtration system and claimed they can see dirt in it. I had a lab test my fuel and determine it is good. If dirt causing the injectors to fail is true then it is a filtration issue that should be covered. I included their test procedure, pictures of the fuel, test results.

Thank you for any help, I refuse to roll over for Chrysler

For that kind of money it is worth going to court. Hopefully you have a version of Small Claims Court down there, where you can represent yourself. We have that here, has a limit of 50K, no punitive damages, but you can do it yourself, you ca nalso use a lawyer but that kind of defeats the purpose of the small claims system, and the court tends to lean towards the consumer. When you win, post the court specifics and details, so State, city, court date, plaintiff and respondent etc so others can site it as a precedent.

If you can find a bunch of people with the same issue, perhaps a class action suit. Not fast but better than bending over.

Even if there was a bucket of dirt dumped in the tank, how would it get past the fuel filter(s) to make in to the injectors? There's no by-pass on them like an oil filter. I would think if there were that much "contaminents" the fuel filers would have plugged up and the truch no run at all.

Is the truck modified in any way? What brand filters are you running and when were they last changed?

OP, admins have already moved it.

To the rest, this is not a problem looking for a solution, this is strictly notice to us. No need to litigate it on here. The OP stated his case; Ram says dirty fuel caused the issue, his independent test says fuel is clean, he even posted a picture of the results. All the ins and out that get to that point are pretty much irrelevant.

I will be interested to see if this has been done to more than just the OP and how he makes out if he takes this to court.

Sounds like you are pretty well covered. Those intervals are way under the factory recommendations. They probably got the dirt in their sample from where they disconnected a line to pull it. I'd be sick if a dealership told me that on a truck that new which was apparently so well maintained. Hope you prevail.

Thinking you need to take that truck to a different dealership for any work you do decide to have done.
Might want to have the other dealership pull one of those injectors and see how it looks and if it was contaminated.

No way would I pay dealersship repair rates for that kind of work. Woudl find a reputable shop or mechanic.

Good Luck and post back what happens and how it gets resolved. Might help another, down the road.

Right now, you might want to contact Ramcares and see if they can help you out.

Again, Good Luck

Did the dealer service that truck, or did you? Hope it was the dealer, if you did it they can always try to right it off as "bad maintenance" or something.
