The 5.7 hemi I'm rebuilding had a spun rod bearing. The number 8 rod bit into the crankshaft about 50 thousands. I took it to a machine shop and they weld repaired it and reground it. It looks really good, but there is some very small pitting where the weld is. I'm struggling to decide if I wanna use it. There are two big oiling holes in there, so do you think the small pits will cause a problem?

I've seen it done and seen it work. Sufficient oil pressure will render those pits non-relevant. Pitting is a common problem on antique engines from rust...The true and polish the journals and some pitting is left over. It's a non-issue as the pits will hold oil.

If I had a choice, and you do, I would never use a re-manufactured crank. New ones just aren't that expensive compared to the time to remove and replace one.

What do you think of remaned cranks?
I've ran several reman cranks over the years,as long as they're from a good crank grinder i never had any issues with them. A .010/.010 under crank wouldn't scare me.But as stated price out a new crank and go from there,if a new crank isn't in the budget, then i'd go for a reman crank.

I wouldn't worry about your repaired crank, that is a common repair.
It is also an old fashioned method to stoke an engine weld up the throw and regrind for a longer stroke,
I've seen as much as a 1/2" longer stroke on a "stock" crankshaft that way.
