I would just like to share what happened to me the last 4 weeks I have a 199 8 Dodge ram 1500 with the 5.2 Magnum engine I began getting a cylinder number 8 misfire so I switched spark plugs and switch spark plug wires and the cylinder number 8 kept coming back misfire so I added seafoam to the gas tank and Marvel's mystery oil to the crankshaft I drove that around for about 2 weeks and now the cylinder number 8 is misfire is gone check engine light has not come back and my truck is running awesome it has never run better so I'm just throwing it out there how this these two additives have worked for me thank you.

Treating your fuel is a must these days although I use different products the idea is the same. Be careful what you use as a "fuel cleaner" many on the market are alcohol based which can cause more problems like an octane booster thought to be a fuel cleaner put into a fuel system to combat carbon deposits running the risk of breaking the carbon off in chunks causing more damage. Most OEM recommend Top Tier Gasoline which is gasoline with added detergents to it - designed to battle carbon deposits. Treating your fuel is doing just that - adding a detergent to the gasoline. Cheers!

Just because you're using such & such additives doesn't mean they do anything for your engine, so long as they don't do any harm to your engine keep using them and you can keep BELIEVING they're working.

I use marine grade stabil to fight ethanol damage,it helps keep the system clean also. After ethanol was added to gasoline I started using this stuff in a 40+ year old ,never rebuilt carb. After 20 years of ethanol going thru it,there was no sign of ethanol corrosion.Even as the vehicle sit in storage a lot.I rebuilt the carb as the accel pump wore out finally.
Is it snake oil? Not according to what I see right in front of me.Most everyone "in the know" knows the bad effects of ethanol on lawn equipment also.

I use the marine grade stabil as well for my gas cans used in lawn equipment, snow blower, etc. This stuff works great!

Own a 1974 VW Beetle (purchased new) and 98 5.2. Listen to a bunch of car shows and have owned several airplanes. Leno had a rep from Archoil on his show and my dearly departed father added MMO to his gas. My A&P swore by Avblend for my aircraft engines. So I add a quart of Archoil, pint of Avblend to the oil and a bottle of MMO to my 35 gallon tank. Both vehicles run great (after Hughes FI addition @ 80K). Snake oil? I believe additives and lubrication technologies have advanced, allowing our vehicles to achieve greater longevity. I do a lot of preventive maintenance, and am astounded at the amount of abuse I see on our gen2’s that could be addressed with a wire brush and penetrating oil. If you see rust and filth, CLEAN IT!

Seafoam is a staple gas additive up here for all small engines that sit. It also works good as a gas stabilizer for gas that may sit for 12 or 18 months before being used. It is also well known to clean the varnish and crud out of carbs and fuel injection systems. Many poor running lawn mowers, chain saws and ice augers have been cleaned up with just some Seafoam in the gas. Some still needed to have the carb stripped and cleaned but probably 80% cleaned up with just the Seafoam.

I buy it one sale by the case and add a can to a tank of gas about every 15,000 klms. It is the same as paying the dealership $200 for the fuel system clean/tune up except it costs $8.

i do not ever add anything to my oil, just use top quality synthetic and change it and the filter regularly.
