Hi I know there's 8,000 postings about this.
Including mine.

But my brain is going to explode and I'm stuck using what appears to be dial up internet speeds this week.

QUESTION: ON A 2015 RAM 1500 CREW CAB 4X4 5.7L, OTHERWISE STOCK SUSPENSION, CAN I PAIR BILSTEIN 5100 REAR SHOCKS WITH A 1.5" COIL SPACER?

Where I'm getting confused is it says "compatible with 0 to 1 inch lift" on the shock.
Not planning on getting new springs.
Not planning on heavy off roading. Just want to lift it a tiny bit and I already have the 1.5" spacer.
I was also planning on the 5100 adjustable front leveling struts at the max 2.8" lift and not changing UCA's.

Please....for the love of God help me finalize this decision lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS!!

If you go above 2.1” on those Bilsteins you will need UCA’s for your family’s safety and mine. Do it right please. We get phenomenal pricing as forum members through @Nick@GotExhaust he can do a whole package deal for you that will include all the right parts that you don’t have to research

Hell yeah. Thx 1,00000000000000000000000 for the quick reply. Your truck looks great. How do you like the ride at max height and w the 1.5?

You're going to be unhappy with the way it drives. Get UCA's or go 2.1" (or do that later after realizing you should have in the first place)

Yes the spacer in the back would be ok. A nice set of aftermarket front UCAs will be even better with any 2-3" front lift. The money spent on it will be good for future joy and is money spent on a good investment for multiple reasons. Youve spent a good chunk on the truck don't skimp on the silly stuff. Pay once cry once man. Sent a pm to Nick and ask for options. If it's an extra 400 or 600 you'll pay that once and that's it. Itll drive better and the alignment will flow naturally towards the correct specs.

I agree with others, if you are going to max out the 5100's at 2.8" UCA's are highly recommended or might I even say necessary. Zone UCA's are a great option as they are very strong and angle correcting so they will get your front end geometry back to where it needs to be.

If you found them online somewhere for a 1/2 of 1 % more than Nick’s quote. It’s probably one of those sites that take your money and don’t ship parts. (There are more sites than you think doing that)
At the end of the day you still didn’t beat the price so are you just being a ****?

I am using those same shocks with these 2" lift springs with no issues at all, ride is great. https://superlift.com/product-detai...993FT4MlCtf-IrJJ-uPfMuwXSibA9b1RoCKOUQAvD_BwE then again this is just my experience on my ecodiesel crew cab. I am getting about 3" of lift out of my front 5100s (missing stock lower strut sprint perch and the ones I have sit higher on the retainer ring which is on the 2.1 notch) with the stock control arms which are oddly far from fully articulated or extreme at the ball joint while sitting on level ground compared to what I read and seen on youtube. I may still replace the UCA in the spring just for piece of mind.

I am very happy with the way mine rides.. I dont go offroading. The truck had a 2/4" lowering kit in it when I bought it so it rode terrible when I got it but now it rides better than any truck ive owned including my last ram and ridgeline.. I switched my 34's from stiff heavy 10ply tires to 4 ply nitto g2s yesterday and that made a huge improvement in ride quality as well as a fuel mileage improvement with less downshifting now. I was worried the ride would be very stiff and thats not the case.

I also shopped around for my components and bought the 4 5100s on amazon for $398 shipped in september vs the $600+ many resellers are asking because Bilstien has recently changed their packaging so the older packaged items are being clearanced.. I had to buy other components like rear sway bar links because of the lowering kit and I was on a budget. I was worried the rear springs would be stiff but thats not the case due to them being progressive springs.

I just got the readylift 4” kit with the Bilstein 5100 rear shocks, and the travel length on them, they are rated for a 0-2” lift. My kit came with 2” rear spring spacers, so that is the shock you would want and can use. At 1.5” rear spacer you’re right within spec for the use of the 5100 shocks.

Yes. I have this exact setup Bils@ 2.8, MaxTrac 1.5" rear spacers. I also added Zone upper control arms, hellwig rear sway bar and Core 4x4 track bar.
This helps me too, I've been riding this exact setup on my 16 Sport for 6 years, but with factory rear shocks and Mavotech UCA's. I now have 108k miles on the truck and ordered 5100's for the rear before realizing max lift s/b only 1"... I figured if the stock shocks never gave me a problem at 1.5 the 5100's shouldn't either. In short, the shocks are still good. I figured I'd replace them now since I am about to replace my rear brakes at the same time.

Gentlemen, I'm considering going down this route in the future as well once I get 35s on my truck (if my Coopers would only wear out). I know it would be a miniscule difference and maybe not worth it, but for a 1" spacer in the rear, do they make a panhard bar relocation bracket to account for that 1"? Or do I just have to suck up my OCD?

There's a few options, Carli makes a frame side bracket, and BDS makes an axle side bracket that comes with their lift kits but I've heard some people have had luck calling and ordering it separate. Neither of them would be needed for 1" lift, I'm at just over 1.5" and my track bar is pretty level. I think it would be better to save the money and use it towards an aftermarket more beefy track bar.

^^ complete agree. Mine is pretty much flat too even with my rear spacers. Need a new pic under there. I have swapped out the sway bar and control arms now.

Trying not to hijack the thread. I too am considering new UCAs to accommodate my BILs at 2.8. The Zone UCA has a greaseable ball joint. What is the maintenance schedule for that? My use might be similar to the OP, except that I also tow pretty heavy (which should mean nothing to front UCAs).
