Hey all.
I have a 2018 1500 tradesman 3.6l
Bought used about 2 years ago. In colder temperatures when filling the tank the pump keeps shutting off until I get about 5 gallons in. I have read that they changed the design of the filler neck and it is not venting correctly during filling. If this is the case what would be the correct part to replace it with?

I've been battling this issue since I bought my 2019. Lately it's gotten REALLY bad. Like, the shutoff triggers as soon as you squeeze the handle making it nearly impossible to fill the truck, and almost always resulting in spilled fuel all over the ground. I found this article regarding a class action lawsuit, which unfortunately was dismissed, but it references the part number for a replacement filler neck that supposedly resolves it. It looks to me like it is basically just the same neck minus the carbon vapor filter canister. I ordered one and will report back.

My 2021 Rebel just started doing this, this weekend. I tried 3 different stations and all the handle calisthenics one can imaging. Upon pulling the nozzle out a little, I fueled my feet!
I've read the filler tube has a check valve that prevents spilling while inverted? Apparently it's stuck. Well, fuel is not getting to the tank. Dealer gets it a 4pm today. Stay tuned.

How did it go? I replaced my filler tube and no change in filling. I tried the old air hose to force the tank flap open but that didn’t work. Wouldn’t budge

The problem seems to be the vent thats molded into the tank. Only way to fix it is replace or cap the vent and put a new one in the tank which involves drilling holes and ****.

Have you guys checked youtube in case there's some 'miracle fix' some inventive young guy has come up with?

I have a 2019 BigHorn that just started the same fueling issue. I put in .3 of a gallon and the nozzle shuts off as if the tank if full but it's actually empty. Dealer is wanting to replace the entire fuel tank. Not sure why this is not a manufacturing defect especially as much as I'm seeing this as an issue. Are there any other DIY options rather than replacing the fuel tank?

My wife is exactly 3 gallons from making her weeks worth of gas, instead of driving to the station I have a 5 gallon gas tank I fill every week and put in when she is low to make it to the weekend. I'd just go to the station with 5 gallons in the tank, but hey this is another option.

Ok, they replaced filler neck, fuel pump, emission catch canister and fuel tank. I'm 6-7 fills into it, no problems. Let's hop this is not a jinx!

I have the same issue with my 2018 Express (purchased in May 23). The local dealer wants to replace the whole tank at a cost of around 3k. More than 10% of what I paid for the whole truck. Opened an issue with RAM Cares more than a month ago. How is this not a major safety recall? I’m spilling gas on the ground all the time. Why does it always seem like there has to be a disaster for someone to do the right thing? I’m thinking of getting rid of it before something terrible happens, but that just makes this someone else’s problem. It doesn’t resolve an issue that is rightly a recall.

You have to replace your gas tank! Full stop! No option, no mod, no hack will work, doesn’t matter. If you spin twice and spit into a northern wind before fueling, makes no difference. The only fix is a new gas tank. Thankfully I bought the extended warranty, the replacmeant was right at $1,000.

Did I mention the only fix is a new gas tank? Stop scrolling and looking for another option, google the dealership you wanna use and get in line, took two weeks for them to get to it, a day to replace.

No issues since.

OMG I said stop scrolling already, save yourself some time and aggravation, go get it replaced already!
