2019 2500 6.4L engine blown up at 95K miles?

Can only imagine the carnage from a broken timing chain...
bent push rods, cams torn up..can only imagine what the crank and pistons look like. Valve guides cracked...anything separate from the motor while you were driving? I had a timing chain break on me while driving an older Exploder. Thank God that I just happened to have a manual transmission, easily could have been killed at highway speeds.

Correction: I just found out my extended warranty (through Autoguard, a Hendricks company) ran out at 93,443 miles. At breakdown the truck had 94,326 miles. Only 883 miles out of warranty...
I take it you called Autoguard? Sometimes if you're persistent enough you can get things partially covered if it's so soon after the expiration. Focused on you always believed in carrying a warranty and saw it as a great value. Feed them stuff like that. Maybe you'll get lucky. Be kind and professional. Maybe call back a couple of times if you don't get the right answer.

If you're on your own, I'd look into a junkyard engine. It would be a lot cheaper and they'll come with warranties too. When I had to replace my transmission on my Charger It was less than half the cost of a remanufactured.

Wow, almost identical to me, except mine was low oil pressure. Was running great even when I drove it to the dealer for the reman engine.
The first sign of a problem I had was pulling out of a gas station that had abnormally cheap gas and I assumed I just had bad gas. I could hear what I thought standard engine knock (later found out that was the bearing going). The next morning I got the flashing CEL under moderate acceleration. Drove it through that tank only getting the light when I accelerated moderate or hard but then filled up with new gas and the problem remained so I took it in. I was afraid they'd try to deny me since I didn't take it right in as the manual says to do with a flashing CEL. In the end I don't think it mattered.

I was definitely stressed for a couple days waiting to get approval. They looked over all my service records (everything done at the dealer) and for some reason were a total PITA about me proving ownership and registration. They didn't want to accept the current registration from my state (Oregon). "They" being the folks at Maxcare not my dealer. It was kind of a joke and delayed things for a couple weeks while we went back and forth.

Valvoline straight up did not put oil back in my Uncle's Ford a couple years ago. Made it about 50 miles then started sputtering and bogging, then shut off. Had to get a lawyer involved and ended up with money for a new engine.
They put too much in my '92 Suburban. There was a larger engine that was 6 qt, but I had the smaller engine that was 5qt. I argued with them at first because they were trying to charge me extra for the extra quart. I changed my oil before, so I knew it was 5 quarts. Anyway, I didn't get charged and I assumed they put 5 quarts in. Got home, hooked up my camper and hit the road. About 30 minutes into the trip the truck started smoking badly. Oil blew through the exhaust and covered the camper. I checked all the fluids and oil was overfilled by at least a quart. I was almost there. I disconnected the trailer and had to drain oil out by loosing up the plug. They wouldn't do anything because I wouldn't tow it back to them on my dime. Corporate brushed it off too. The truck seems to have lost power. VIOC kept blaming it on the high miles I had on the engine.

I know the 2014 an few 2015 6.4 had some problems afer this think the is good engine. but everone has badday.
on my 2014 jeep. the oil guy forgot to remove the old oil so had 12 qt in it for 1500 mile /60 day, befor stat to leak I send back to dealer 3 time befor tha got fix (2016 to 2018) 3th time dealer had it 4 week. ( 3th time dealer forgot give any paper work or info to repair) but still going stong today,

ALLWAS CHECK THE OIL YOUR SELF AFER EACH OIL CHANGE. Date/miles oil Fiter. or just pay the big money an do your self,

Yeah Valvoline was dicking around at first with my Uncle. When the truck started acting funky after the oil change, my uncle took it to his mechanic, which is a small chain. They advised him of the lack of oil and the manager even gave him an affidavit stating there clearly was no oil put back in the truck and it was clear the plug had not been tampered with. I'm not sure if they mark it or wax it or whatever. Valvoline wanted tmhim to bring it in to them, then a shop of theirs, he refused as he had it towed home from his mechanic and wasn't going to drive it as is. They of course tried to convince him to put oil in it. He had to get the lawyer side of the family involved to finally get an traction on it. The insurance company was a pita of course trying to rip him off for the value, flip flopping between totaling it or not. I think they ended up giving him the estimate value for a like mileage replacement professionally swapped.

Remanufactured engine depends on who’s doing the remanufacturing. Huge variable when they say remanufactured.

Update: Autoguard, the extended warranty company, has stepped up and is going to pay $7,500 of the almost $14,000 bill. I am very grateful for this. The truck was out of warranty by only 883 miles, but out of warranty none the less and they didn't have to pay anything. Additionally, @RamCares reached out and has opened a case so I'm hoping they will come through with some help as well. As far as a cause, I have no idea. Generally speaking I keep an eye on the dash lights and nothing ever came on. It wasn't running hot, and the dealer hasn't mentioned anything about the oil being low, let alone gone. (I would think this would be one of the first things they checked?) It just shut down completely out of the blue. I'll keep updating and thanks for all the input.

I think if the engine blew under a Mopar Warranty,
the dealer only does a preliminary tear down, then they send it off to a contract shop for a detailed tear down

Update: @RamCares opened a case on this and I sent them all the information they requested. I received an email late Friday afternoon (that I just got this morning since we were out of town) stating that since my truck is in Canada, They can't do anything. Now, I have never been to Canada. Far as I know, the truck has never been to Canada. As you can imagine, I have spoken with many people, filled out many forms over this situation and have never even mentioned Canada. I live in North Carolina, the truck is in North Carolina, which isn't even close to Canada. I left the @RamCares case manager a voicemail this morning as well as a reply email and haven't heard back yet. I hope they step up, as everyone else associated with this has been excellent to deal with so far...

I would not be able to provide cost assistance if the repairs are already being assisted." What the heck is this? What does that have to do with anything? Needless to say, I am a very disappointed first time Ram owner. I bought the warranty from the Ram dealer when I originally bought the truck. Why can't they work together to assist a customer in distress? @RamCares should change their name to @Ramdon'tcare...

Didn't you say the warranty was through Autoguard? I don't think they are affiliated with Mopar. If both offered to help, pick the one that will offer the most coverage. It sounds they won't help if another warranty service is even partially covering the repair.

Hit up your local TV stations,if you can get your case on TV,odds are one of the warrenties will step up.Manufacture's hate people going to their local TV stations with bad publicity

Yes, the warranty is through Autoguard. And they have a customer for life as far as I'm concerned. As I stated in a previous post, they stepped up and are paying $7,500 of the almost $14,000 cost even thought the vehicle was technically out of warranty. I can't thank Autoguard enough. @RamCares is blowing me off big time. I loved this truck and was considering becoming a dedicated Ram guy, but am reconsidering this now.

Well, @ram has officially blown me off and kicked me to the curb. This is the last message from them:

"We do apologize for the confusion around the Canadian Dealership. At this time, the decisions made by your case manager are unable to be overturned. According to your case, without your Autoguard warranty, you still would not qualify for goodwill assistance. We do apologize for the inconvenience surrounding this."

Needless to say I'm a very disappointed Ram truck owner. Engine catastrophic failure should not be happening at 94K miles. I will definitely stop telling people that I love my truck when asked about it.
