Mine is set to not programmed, but that setting has nothing to do with changing the steering wheel heat levels.
Here is the result of selecting 3 levels for the wheel heat ...

Seats A:Heated Wheel Levels: High / Med / Low / Off

The result: With each subsequent push of the wheel heat button there are two visual and one tactical indication of the setting …
  • The button: Unlike the seat heat which has three bars indicating the set level, the wheel heat button has only one bar. The AlphOBDII change resulted in the button indicating: On / On / On / Off
  • The touchscreen display: Unlike the heated seats icon which shows three bars indicating the set level, the heated wheel icon shows only one bar. AlphOBDII change resulted in the icon indicating: On / On / On / Off
  • The physical wheel temperature: After the AlphOBDII change, subsequent presses of the button resulted in the wheel temperature being: High / Off / Off / Off
I conclude that while the computer appears to acknowledge the change as indicated but the button light cycling through On / On / On / Off, there must be another change to be made either an additional/different OBDII change or a hardware change, or both.

Any more ideas?
Thanks

I have the 12” screen, so I don’t have the physical button. The soft key on the screen is like you describe- one bar, but three presses available. I do know for sure on mine that the wheel changes heat levels, and others on the other forum have confirmed with a heat gun. That’s about all I can tell you about that.

Thanks for the feedback. Bummer (for me). Hoping another member will chime in ....

umbighouse - here are the pictures you requested...the first picture is from the OEM reverse cam...at the bottom it displays icons of the 2 AUX cams added via AlfaOBD...I named one "Front"...which I use for front parking...the other I named "360 Cam" (my plan is to add a after market 360 surround camera system...once I get up the nerve to drill holes under my side mirrors. The 2nd pic is of a view from the front AUX cam...up in the top left of the image is a icon/label for both AUX cams added. The 3rd pic: I currently am using the second AUX cam feed to display an image to a LCD screen I'm experimenting with in a modified driver side sunvisor. The 4th pic is of the 12" Uconnect 5 Vehicle settings screen...the 2 AUX cams show up as Aux Camera 1 and Aux Camera 2, and can be accessed from the screen. The 5th pic shows the 2 AUX cams populating the Uconnect 5 Apps screen...the AUX cams can be accessed from the screen also.
Looks great- thanks very much for the pix. How many aux camera ports are there on the 12" radio? Did you happen to take any photos of the back of that unit?

There are no spare/extra video inputs (RCA jacks or coax connectors), on the radio or screen...the Aux cameras inputs were created by tapping into 4 wires on one of the connector bundles...2 wires for each Aux camera...and at the end of the wires, a RCA pig tail connector was wired. If you go visit the 5th Gen Ram forum...there is a thread/discussion titled "Adding OEM Front Camera" it covers everything I did.

Here is a picture...of a 12" Uconnect 5 module...I found on eBay a while back when I was researching the Aux camera add...looks like it was cut out of a vehicle...I'm sure that open round connector near the bottom left is for... the video feed for the screen or it might be for a 360 surround camera system...it was a while back when I did the Aux camera add and honestly don't remember about that video port. The Aux cameras were added/created by tapping into 4 wires of the blue connector bundle...then a few AlfaOBD commands later...and the wiring of 2 RCA pig tails to the wires that tapped into the blue connector...gave 2 Aux cameras recognized by the Uconnect screen.

Is this the link to the other discussion you referenced? Any specific pages to refer to? Thx

I can’t find a specific video for my bypass cable install I found the location i believe and another obd2 port connection it looks like. The question where do I connect the blue and white wires does it matter? On in the gray/green and the other in the green/black block? I’ll get a picture of that when I go back out

Similar question, there doesn’t seem to be a thorough explanation here of installing the cable after reviewing over 3 years of comments…

Can someone please describe or post pics of the bypass cable install for a 2022 ram 2500? Are the 1500s and 2500s similarly organized behind the dash? All videos I’ve watched only show 1500s, excluding a couple that show guys removing their instrument clusters to access a security module..

Also, anyone use this other cable? 42B6E75C-314A-42EA-8BAB-FBD0672F8B7E.pngcouple videos/forums say it works just the same.Thoughts?

Connect the white end of bypass cable to green/black and the connect the blue end of bypass cable to green and white. Connect obd2 cable to obd2 port next to the puddle light under dash and then connect your reader

Need help!

I have lost my gear display in the lower center section of my dash gauges.

I can scroll thru the steering wheel setup and select display gears "ON" and nothing appears in the | | | | area at the bottom. I used to have it show like P|R|N|D and the gear I was in. I can't seem to get this to display anymore.

I have both Alpha OBDII and an Unlocked ECU I use with HPTuner software. I lost this before I unlocked the ECU for HP. I'm wondering if I did something inadvertently with the ALPHA OBDII by mistake. I've looked thru some of my older logs I can't seem to find anything I changed that would have disabled this.

On another note I swear I saw a video online that showed how using the + and - gear buttons on the steering wheel got you into a secret menu? For whatever reason this is how I remember setting the gear to display which gear I was in while driving.

I have a 2019 Laramie 1500, I can provide a Alpha Log if that will help.

Thanks.

Can someone explain the difference between the two bypass options? I have a 2020 Ram 3500 Larime.

Kaodtech Module Bypass: https://www.kaodtech.com/product-page/security-module-bypass
Zautomotive OBDII T-Harness Bypasss: https://www.zautomotive.com/product/z_obd_t_long/

Based on what I could find the Zauto is harder to install, but allows access to radio mods...??

I bought OEM Led Bed Light Kit and understand I will need to use AlphOBD for an update.

Any info is appreciated.

Thank you.
If you are on Facebook there are groups you can join. I would join and ask there.

The only difference between those two is the Z automotive one has a splitter providing an extra OBD port, that’s it. They both serve the same purpose, bypass the the same way, and install the same way. Neither allow access to the radio module.

Bonjour à tous,
Quelqu'un connait les valeurs usine des hauteurs de suspension pneumatique pour RAM DT 2020.
Suite à une erreur de manipulation j'ai effacé ces valeurs.
Je me sers d' ALFA OBD.
