My son just got a (new to him) 2020 RAM 1500 Classic. He liked my Laramie, so he traded in his Toyota for the Classic . Anyway, his first day at work with the Classic, a co-worker pulled in too close and totaled the passenger side mirror. The guy was good about it - paid for the replacement and $100 for his time and trouble to replace it. Now, the real question: how difficult is it to replace that mirror? I’m anticipating that we’ll need to remove the interior door panels and the window trim. Any ‘gotchas’ that I need to be aware of? Any tips or trip wires? Thanks much…..

It's really simple. Remove the door panel (screw behind the door handle, pop out the push pin that looks like a torx screw on the upper back portion of the panel, and a screw or two at the very bottom). You don't have to take it completely off, just need to get it loose to get the triangle panel to pass it since it overlaps.

Once it's loose, pop off the triangle panel on the inside of the door behind the mirror. Remove the 2 (or 3, can't remember) nuts that hold the mirror and unplug the connectors. Pull out the mirror. Reverse to reassemble the new one.

It's about a 10-15 minute process from start to finish.

Ok, guys thanks much. Simpler than I thought. On my sons RAM, that triangular piece that covers the mirror fasters looks like it’s part of the inner window frame that goes around the window. That will need to come completely off. Should be a two-beer evolution.
