Im replacing my Bilstein 5100’s and have access to a set of 5th gen take-offs. I was going to disassemble and build my strut ahead of time. Thats my angle on this.
I think the 5th gen are an inch longer? So you would set to an inch lower lift than you want I think.

Lemme see if I can find the link for the 1 inch part.

I was just going to use the parts on the new 5100’s. Toss the oem strut.
I’d like to build them beforehand…make for a quicker install.

Well, I was planning on starting round 2 on the suspension upgrades/replacements after the abort from the other night. Outside temp is currently 19*F.
The S.S. Ram is too big to comfortably work on/around in the garage with the door closed, especially since I need to be up under the rear directly. I’m still waiting on the replacement strut top plates anyways.

Bils now at 2.8 and Icon JT (Jeep Gladiator) 1.5” rear coils. Tires are still 305/55/20 (33.2x12.5).
Measured 41.5” Front and 42” Rear, ground to center of wheelwell. Icons were 1.5” taller than my oem W/1” spacers. 35x12.5 should look great on it when I buy tires later.

They are 1/2” taller than the Icon’s for a 4th Gen. The real kicker…$185 versus $300.
How do they ride compared to OEM? How do they handle weight? I'd like to get rid of my spacers and go with a coil. I'm running stock coils with 1.5" spacers currently.

There a tad softer ride, but it may be because they are multi-stage. They handle pot holes well. I am going to upgrade my rear control arms and shocks I think. My rear 0-2” are definitely at the 2” lol.
With the Icon JT’s and a 1.5” body lift with brand new 35’s (like an hour ago) the rear is 43” from wheelwell to ground.
Front is 2.8 Bilsteins and is 42”. I have a Wulf 1/4” spacer plate that would get me another 1/2”. Not sure I need it looks pretty nice now. Thoughts?

I think it looks great as is. I prefer to have a bit of a rake than being perfectly level. I'm intrigued by going this route, might be something I look into.

I was so concerned these tires would make it look “stuffed”. Doesnt look like that at all.
I do have to pull my new Bilsteins apart again. I had to basically destroy my orig OEM strut tops to use a cutoff wheel to get at the old 5100 strut shaft bolt. I didn’t transfer that little 2mm rubber isolator off of the underside of strut mount. And now I have the 1/4” spacer sitting here.

I have nearly 5 years/70k on the rear Bilstein shocks…Thinking they dont pair as well with the Icon springs. Maybe its me just needing to get used to them. Researching replacement shocks though.
Anyone have experience with these:
