Impressed with how good 4th gen trucks still look

I've had people ask me if it's wrapped. People also look at it bewildered like it's not a Dodge/Plymouth color and it's not real.

But to the point, I love the 4th gen ram, I've had 2 of them. Really like how sporty it looks no matter the trim or door count.

I was never a big fan of "skittles" colors on vehicles BUT the yellow, orange, blues and green that Ram uses work, even my wife says so. IMO, The 4th Gen designers just plain nailed it all around.
I'm with you on that. I'm not a big fan of the color, I don't hate it either, but it's so stupid and obnoxious it makes me like it. The wife likes it too, so that's a plus.

I do miss my 4th gen. The interior and ride on my 5th gen is fantastic and the Delmonico Red with chrome looks very sharp but my old 4th gen just looked mean. I loved that truck. I agree if I could have the 5th gen interior and ride in my 4th gen, that would be the combo.

The 4th gen has a presence that the 5th gen will never match. It looks good from any angle and will never be mistaken for another brand. Ram threw away 25 years of brand identity with the 5th gen when they ditched the aggressive look and the crosshair grill.
I hope the mid cycle refresh of the 5th gen fixes some of the front end's bland looks, and please kill the hood badges with fire.

Absolutely.

Now, I've heard that the interior on the 5th gen is improved, so maybe that could be a thing, gen 4 exterior, gen 5 interior?

I will keep my gen 4 til the wheels fall off.
You're basically describing the HD Ram trucks. 4th gen sheet metal with "almost" 5th gen interiors.

I beg to differ. I love the 5th gen exteriors. Don't get me wrong, I loved both of the 4th gens I owned. There was noting else that looked as good to me for the time. But now it's a dated look, and Ram did well in updating the exterior looks OMHO. Also, the cross hair grilles are a Dodge thing. I think they really should have ditched it when Ram became its own brand. Again, just my opinion.

Another happy 4th gen owner checking in......2016 with 155K on it and still going strong. Took new pics today after a quick wash...tough to keep it clean this time of year in the northeast.

I do have a 2023 Limited on order, which I'm excited for but will def have mixed emotions when I have to trade her in.

I've read somewhere in the RAMforum someone made a comment about how the new current RAM 1500 trucks looked like the "others" and that the design team took those cues and blended them with the previous RAM body style for the new body.

That was an misguided comment. The "others" started mimicking the RAM trucks design when the body style completely changed(1994)for Dodge trucks.

Imo, the new(current) RAM still shares it's styling with the previous body style(s) and doesn't look anything like the "others". The new body RAM Trucks is much more appealing and has that "aggressive intimidating truck look" where the "others" are now just ... well, butt ass ugly.

I like my 2017 RAM and I'm hanging on to it. As for the newer RAM, I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to buy one ... it still is the best looking truck rolling down the roads ... hands down.

I've watched too many Ryan Mayer videos on Youtube :D I just automatically think about his truck when I see sublime green. https://www.youtube.com/@ryan2546

I agree with those that feel the 4th Gen trucks are just better looking than the 5th Gen. I’m a chronic early adopter on most things, but I’m perfectly happy sticking with my 2014 Limited with the lifetime Chrysler warranty.

The 5th Gens just never looked right to my eyes. Tough to put into words what specifically doesn’t appeal to me on the 5th Gens but it looks bulbous to me and the reflections off the rounded body panels are odd and distracting, at least to my old eyes.

The 4th Gen just seems more purposeful in its design, if that makes any sense.

Usually I’m bored and looking to upgrade to a newer vehicle after 7 years or so. My 2014 is now 9 years old and I still prefer it over the newer models and I’m still perfectly happy with it.

I like the Silver and Delmonico. I am going to gloss Linex my 2500 Laramie for rock protection, 3M doesn't protect well enough. Rather than the black I intended to do, same 2 tone pattern as yours, I think I might just get them to do that pattern in Silver like yours. Thanks for posting the picture.
