I have a 2016 1500 ram limited. Truck has 134k on it and I keep it as nice as possible. The other day the #5 lifter decided it was done lifting and started tapping really badly as you could expect. I've decided that the truck is worth fixing and keeping around for awhile longer. Definitely going to delete the mds. Leaning towards the frp mark 82 cam. Was also looking around the mmx site. Does anyone have any experience with the frp cam? I tow very little and when I do it's under 6,000lbs. And what does everyone like for tuning? Go hptuners or or Diablo i3? Would appreciate any insight and I'm open to criticism if I'm completely on the wrong path. Thanks in advance.

Well definitely going with hp tuners. Just need to make sure I'm choosing the correct cam. And I really can't decide if I want to spend over 2k for long tunes, around 1k for afe shorties, or just leave the stock manifolds. I'm not looking for a drag truck. Just figured I'd take advantage of the truck being down and need a tune anyway.

No point in putting a hi-po cam in it,if you aren't going to do long tubes. If you're just going to do shorties,or leave the stock manifolds on it,you might as well just throw a stock cam or a stock non-mds cam in it (6 speed Challenger 5.7's and 6.4's are non-mds)

I hear what you are saying for sure. Main reason I'm doing the cam is because if I'm going to spend money anyway I might as well make it more fun. Just really having a hard time justifying 2k for headers.

I have limited knowledge about the hemi other than procharging my 5.7 and the Diablo that came in the kit had issues and my shops tuner extensively bad mouthed it and did a custom tune with HP. Great to hear about the 134k.

Spend 15 minutes reading this, then you'll see the benefit of adding a set of long tubes with a hi-po cam. You have to get the exhaust out before you'll see a big benefit from a cam that's trying to get more air in.The time to throw a set of long tubes on,is when you already have the heads off to do the cam

Wow 134k I have a 2013 ram and at 109k cyl 5 misfire dealer said they have to pull engine and find out why then on this forum got my answer those trucks had bad cam shafts a lot of them but no recall so instead of $5000 to pull and check or 9700 for new engine a mechanic friend did cam lifters gaskets for 1500 parts and labor and he just finished putting in my third starter Ram is not very reliable and now they want to sell a RamEv good luck with that
