So no updates for a while, the bumper was put on the back burner for a bit. Family health issues. My 11yo son lost sight in his left eye a few weeks ago. Turned out to be twin aneurysms. 14 days in PICU, back to back surgeries. One open cranial surgery left corotid bypass followed by an immediate angiogram surgery form the right side to repair his left A3.

Needless to say everything came to a halt and we lived out of several different hospital rooms for the duration.

Got home last night. He's doing well, walking eating, doing everything he used to do, other than being social. He doesn't like the way he looks currently and I'm not pushing him. Hopefully, that changes soon.

As he improves, I'll be returning to finish the work on the truck. Selling the Rambar as I want a different setup back there. Anyone in FL, hint hint... :) Make a killer deal.

Hope to follow up soon. Stay well.

Family comes first. All the best wishes and prayers :waytogo:

Dirty pics but it's on. It's heavy and I can feel it in the frontend. before the winch goes in I'm going to have to blow the frontend apart and take it up to the final notch the AVE Bilstein's. Rigid amber lights are up and working, I think the other pair are going to be DD dual g/driving combo's. We'll see.

Got to try the Rigids out tonight. They're ****. I'd be better off with the Hella 500s mounted behind the bumper.

$250 down the tube. Maybe they'd be ok as chase lights. Maybe reverse lights.

Looks awesome :waytogo:

Any idea of what the weight of it is? Looks pretty solid. I’m guessing at how the front end ride, and handling will be affected.

What pattern are they? Can you swap lenses to change the throw?

The ss3 pro fog pods I have are great. Only downfall is they are short throw. I already told the wife when I redo my front bumper I’ll be swapping to different lights. I love them but not enough distance. I need a wide beam angle and farther distance

They're amber and happen to be flood pattern. I bought them from my neighbor as he changed his mind on installing his octane bumpers and they're what he bought. I didn't think to check pattern on the box with them being amber. I naturally assumed, amber in FL, fog pattern.

Amber flood would work pretty well for ditch lights by the windshield pillars, but probably not for front fogs, not enough throw distance.

I read some last night that Rigid requires mailing back for warranty work, so I assume to change patterns it would involve mailing them in, if they'd even do it.

Yeah I thought of ditch use, on the outer light holes of the bumper for ditch side lighting. We'll see. I like amber/yellow especially in the wet. I'm not married to them, so I dunno yet.

Or scene/work lights from the top of the bed bar. I'm sure they'll find a good spot somewhere

Shipping weight was 213 pounds. I haven't gotten to the winch yet. Which is another 67 pounds.

Ill be interested in seeing how your front end stance (height) changes if at all, and if you’ll be changing any of the suspension as a result.

Keep up the good work :waytogo:

Well I got my SS3's today. Having had the Rigid lights and now these Diode Dynamics in my hands, theres no way I'd ever spring for Rigid again. The quality is almost night and day. The Rigids are nice, but the DD's, yeah I can see the price. I can only imagine BD lights....

Anywho. Got the winch mounted. No difference in ride height. Though I am going to go through the hassle and move the snap ring up on the Bilsteins to the last notch. AEV recommends this setting for winch or plow work so its what were gunna do.

Yup mounted that winch cutoff switch to the PDC. Made a bracket amd put the winch control box between the PDC and the rediator.

I have to yank the bracket to file the edges smooth and to coat it. But for now it works. I'll most likely be remaking this bracket, v2.0, if you will, as I dont like how rough it turned out.
