Took my vehicle to dealer after the past two days having a dead battery in the morning. After a jump thr Vehicle restart after driving for 30 minutes, but if the truck sit for too long the vehicle won’t start. I also ran into after a Jump Start. The traction control message came up on the screen, and when I drove, it would not go any further than the first gear. After letting the truck run to charge the battery and restarted the error message would clear, and I could drive normally .
dealer, inspected the vehicle and had to jumpstart and tested the battery and the battery passed. Check the vehicle for a draw and a 14 and draw was present. Inspected the under hood power distribution center and the relays and connections are corroded from water intrusion. They’re recommending replacing the PDC and reevaluating the vehicle . Wanted to see if anyone has an opinion or thought on their possible diagnosis . Thanks

With amp draw that high someone should be able to isolate it. If nothing else pull fuses one at a time while the amp meter is in place. That’s my suggestion

Any updates on this problem, same year 1500 limited just did the same thing, mysterious dead battery with 40K, jumped it, no shift out of 1rst gear and multiple error messages, mostly acc and electronic stabil system. cleared up after sitting for 1/2 hour and restart.

Modern vehicles are sensitive to the battery condition, and driving around to charge a flat battery generally won't get it done. You need to put it on a 10 amp charger until it reads full and then switch over to 2 amps and let it charge overnight.

They don't make many battery chargers like that anymore. Today's chargers are "smart" chargers that take care of those things all by themselves. The charger senses whether it is connected to a 6v or a 12v battery, whether or not the battery is lead-acid, AGM, lithium, or some other construction, the state of charge, and a number of other things. I have 3 chargers; a 6v/12v-2A, a 12v-20A/10A/2A, and a small 12v-0.8A one that I keep connected to my generator in the shop.
