Have 2019 classic with halogen lights, I've bought to different sets of lights, tried plug and play resistors, tried various settings in alfaobd and I got nothing, guess no fancy running lights for me, smoked lense and some led bulbs... I'm calling it a LOSE

If you are using alfaobd, there are 3 settings you need to change for the taillights. Even then, some cheaper housings dont play well. I've even had replacement led bulbs go bad, where an LED chip or 2 would burn out, and that would be enough to trigger faults in the system.

What I found out with alfaobd is sometimes the changes you make don't happen right away. When I added fog lights to my non fog light truck it took 3-4 days after install and turning on the fog lights with alfa before they actually started working like they should.

Something about the bcm needs to "reboot" once you make the changes in alfa but the bcm doesn't "reboot" every time you shut the truck off if I remember correctly. I thought I didn't do something right at first til I searched and found that info so I waited a few days and they've been working great ever since. So you might have to give the truck a little bit to make the changes you made.

When installing new equipment that operates from any of the factory modules, do what GM calls a Master Reset. Disconnect the battery and do not use a "keep-alive" device. Go have a coffee and reconnect after about 20 minutes. To assure the reboot, touch the battery cables to each other for 5 or 10 minutes. Then reinstall the cables and start up and operate everything. The modules will discover the new lights, etc., and reboot the electronics. You may even see some difference in the charging voltage if you recently replaced the battery. I have fixed everything from compasses to transfer cases with the master reset, and my customers loved me!

What are 3 settings in aflaobd? I've done a few changes, nothing worked, I ran out of time to work on them, got dark, and some winter weather came in, planning on trying again before this set gets returned

I’ve read a few posts on this forum concerning tail lights and OEM sockets. The aftermarket taillights don’t play well with the factory wiring, specifically the sockets. Even if you go on a site like amazon and read the reviews on the Dorman sockets many users have issues with them. Personally I have a 2018 that came with the basic halogen tails. I use LED bulbs without issue. I used AlfaOBD for the settings and just using bulbs retains the OEM sockets.

He is 100% dead on here. I went through every setting in Alfa, you name it and was still getting Parking Light Out on the dash with my Alpharex tails... replaced the Dorman sockets with OEM and it solved the problem immediately.

I checked faults with alfobd, came back with something about an open circuit, and I believe something about not grounded, will check again Saturday when can try them again, this is my 2nd attempt with this kind of lights, if doesn't work, gonna go with smoked lense and led bulbs, already have stop/running lights led , just need reverse

LasFit LED bulbs are working great for me in my Rebel. The brake lights are OEM LED BS integrated crap, but the reverse lights got upgraded. Before I got Alfa. (The Kaodtech cable arrived 2 days ago, the LED's went in months ago.)

I bought these Alpharex Pro series taillights for my '19 Classic and I had zero issues. 100% plug and play.

I've had good luck with just using LED bulbs. My headlights and fog lights are Auxito (canbus ready)bulbs in the stock halogen housings.

The rest of my interior lights and my rear lights are from SuperBrightLED. I did wire in a resistor for the turns, but have had no issues with any of it working. I don't have AlphaOBD, so I needed something plug and play. So far, so good.

I haven't messed with my tail lights, but I just replaced my backup lights. Got these on Amazon:

Combriller 912 921 LED Bulb, 921 Backup Reverse Light Bulbs White, 3600 Lumens Super Bright 906 912 T15 W16W 921 LED Bulbs for Backup Reverse Light Pickup Truck Cargo Light Bulbs Canbus Error Free

I've had no problems at all and I can now actually see most of what's behind me when I back up.

I might try those alpharex taillights next, you have stock headlights or aftermarket, and was ur truck factory led or halogen?

I had the stock smoked halogen headlights with led bulbs. My truck was factory halogen, it was an Express.

Good to know thanks, if you're truck will run those tail lights, there's almost no reason mine shouldn't

Is that an illuminated Rams head on the tailgate? If so, where'd you get that?

Nice look, by the way.

i have found that sometimes you have to change the settings in Alfaobd then cycle key and go back and change settings till it works. My 14' i had to do it 3 times for my tail lights to work.
