Is there any way to bleed the fuel filters? Also check for something that may have been disconnected during the process of changing the filter.

I’ve been looking that up but don’t seem to come up with anything think they bleed themselves when you turn the key. The water separator has one plug and I plugged it in and rechecked and de plugged it in both filters seem to be getting fuel because when I checked the valves fuel would come out. The fuel filter lets a his out after it cranks not sure if that is normal maybe just it building pressure

If the fuel filter is hissing, which is what I assume you were saying, then you have an air leak. Try a different fuel filter, this one may have a bad gasket. Also check the mounting surface for dirt. Any air leak will cause the truck not to run.

I just ran into an issue like this servicing my Dad's truck. Long story short, the rear filter was defective. Actually I suspect he bought a chinese knockoff since some of the writing isn't the same as the old OEM.
So what to check, remove the NEW filter. Inside the threaded hole you'll see a plastic piece that needs to stick out far enough to press the plastic ball check valve that is in the center of the filter head. On his it was way too deep and not opening the check valve.
Another guy I know just experienced the same thing so its going around.
Let us know what you find and if you can compare it to the old filter for comparison.

I only hear the hiss when I open the valve on the filter. I will be removing the water separator and check to make sure it is able to reach the check valve like you say. I bought a mopar one on Amazon but I guess it could be knock off I will get this checked out.

If you can post these 2 pics. This is an authentic filter. Compare the depth of the plastic piece. But also look at the printing of the Recycle symbol. Does it look "off" in comparison? Also did you get your filter from a seller on Amazon? That's where the fakes (or defective)
have been coming from.

Glad you got it figured out.

Amazon is starting to sell a whole bunch of knock off parts as OEM. I would bet money they know this is happening and are doing zero about it. Surprised big makers like Mopar aren't going after them for this.

Yup. You got the same fraudulent filter my dad got. Look closely you'll see the printing is different and again that recycle symbol is not right. Dead giveaway.
My father contacted the seller and he did give him a refund.
This isn't necessarily Amazon, it is the vendors listed with Amazon that actually is supplying these fraudulent parts. Unless it comes from a dealer it's hard to trust. Remember if the price is too good to be true, it probably isn't.
