I have the ability or the bad luck depending on how you look at it to brake the most random things on my truck. This time I broke the the winch of the spare tire holder under the bed. luckily I had a cable lock around my spare so it didn't fall out. Now I want to make a spare tire mount in the bed. I want to mount the tire flat against the box against the back window. my concern is the bed is pretty thin sheet metal. So I need some ideas on how to mount it. since I am running 35's on method rims its a pretty heavy tire and I am not done romping my truck through the desert so it needs to be a fairly stout mount. my 2 ideas are get 2 sheets of steel use one as back plate and mount the tire to the other and sandwich the 2 plates to the bed. or run to pieces of steel on the bed rails and weld a beam between them.
