Then again, Mobil 1 has had an ongoing identity crisis for decades - you can hardly know what you're getting anymore.

With EPA joining the "mess with engine oils" party, nobody knows what the hell is going on, and the blenders ain't talking anymore.

API SP and all the crazy ISLAC GF variants just suck. Nobody should have to be a gdamn chemist just to change their engine oil and expecting the engine to hold together.
*end rant*

It goes so far past engine oil I surrender, if you read the stuff going on at the API, it should make you hurl, especially if you understand esg. Research esg finance and understand why oils are heading the way they are heading. There is no path way forward other then shut up and do what we say. When we say 0w16, that will be the law of the land. Good luck going against esg, yeah for real. wait and see what the next ten years brings.

In talking about the possible alternatives to Redline 5W30 on here, I think that there is one oil that we are forgetting to mention in recent threads. It has been discussed before. - Motul 300V 5W30 / 5W40.
no, motul 300v is redline clone or clonish, maybe even more moly.

This is old and different weight, but you see the news. You can search ***** for more current ones, but 300v is the real deal oil.

I've been looking at the specs and it seems quite the same as Redline.
I did run it for about 10,000 kms in my previous truck. The engine sounded smooth, but not as smooth as with Redline. That was probably because prior to Motul, I used Total Quartz 9000 and ran that for 10,000kms as well.
The interesting thing is that Motul is readily available here in Dubai. However it is more expensive than Redline. Roughly 217 USD.

Pretty impressive place, makes you wonder if the distribution process is a big mistake. Yes now you can buy it on amazon now, but you check the price actually north of redline in most spots.

Very true. Plus if you order directly from Amsoil most times you will see it show up within 2 days and depending on the day or time you may get it next day. Your definitely not saving money ordering from Amazon.

I watched the video.

Being a a purist, it's not how synthetic oil is made, it's how synthetic oil is blended.

They state in the video they buy base oil from somebody else by rail tank car load.

Just sayin' - more Amsoil misleading marketing. They really don't need to resort to the huckstering with a good product.
I suppose it all goes back to the founder. I'd have thought they would have matured their approach by now.

Guess not.

It is a top notch factory with a lot of energy put into the details, that was my only point. Of course that wouldnt impress you as you have seen stuff none of us have brother. On the other hand, I am very impressed and glad banks filmed that.

I saw that video when it came out and yeah its a very impressive place. They definitely care about their products thats for sure.

IMO the best way to buy Amsoil if you use a lot of their products is to be a preferred customer. Thats only if you order enough to offset the price of being a PC tho. Like for me its worth it because I use it on the wifes Jeep as well as their diff fluid for my truck. But if you're just buying oil for one vehicle for one oil change its just not worth becoming a PC.

Yeah I agree with that, I stock up for the snowblower, lawnmower, etc. too. When I was looking for the 8 speed fluid it was still far cheaper even with the PC cost than it was getting from any local PC. They were probably trying to pull a fast one on me though.

join once, buy ten years worth, done. Can you imagine how much you will save, especially with the next time we get hit with inflation? How many redline guys wished they would have stocked up when it was 10 bucks a quart, you actually save money buy long term.

Yes, Amsoil is a very impressive lubricant blender.

So is HP Lubricants, from what I've read and know.

Red Line is being somewhat mysterious at present, both in lubricant changes, pricing, and availability.
I very much wonder if Phillips 66 takeover hasn't forced them to do things they wouldn't have otherwise. I've seen this in all 4 corporate takeovers I've been personally caught up inside of.

The reason oil 'makers' is still relevant is because there are still integrated synthetic oil manufacturers today - in addition to blenders only.

Mobil, Chevron, Shell, others I don't remember, Google-able now days. This is a very important delineation within the industry. Maybe Forum members don't care, fine, but it is a big deal to the companies.

Well, I don't buy any of that garbage, lol. Use amazon and see for yourselves about availability. 66 has nothing to do with the 15% increase on redline quarts. What some retailers are doing, has nothing to do with redline, or anyone else. See amazon pricing, tells a different story.

I think it pretty much pays for its self or close to it after the first order when you do an oil change. It’s 25 bucks for a year membership and you can save that easy on an order. I have my truck, the wife’s car and my sons car. They all get Amsoil products so it definitely worth it. Don’t get me wrong redline oil is great and that’s the oil in my truck right now but all other fluids are Amsoil.

How about posting up some SS pricing with that proffered discount? No offense but everything else is talk, lol.

Thanks in advance.

Do we all agree it is SS that is top tier boutique and not their other stuff?

Amsoil SS 5w30-
0w30 SS
Amsoil SS Sever gear in 140 and 90 weight.
Amsoil SS multi transmission oil.
Amsoil PI

and whatever else you think is relevant.

We never discuss the good aspects about amsoils marketing, they control the price, good at times like this. Redline is getting smoked by retailers, not their doing, retailers are changing their %'s, you see the recomended pricing and amazon pricing, it isnt up that much 15%.

So can you post what worked and kept truck smooth and what didnt. Man there is no way to keep all this knowledge, I can barely remember corey's and his was our test truck number 1.
