I know this is an older thread, but I wonder how many owners have been refused service for this issue. We mentioned that our 2019 1500 Classic with 24,000.00 miles was cutting off after 1/3 gallon to the service folks. Like clockwork. 20 plus minutes to half tank. Finally after 3 oil changes and chances to complain in person to the service manager they wrote it up,waited 1 more month for an appointment, then they replaced the tank and the filler neck . The bill was 1900. 00 paid by the Fiat folks. No more issues yet. The bill states that the rollover valve was stuck closed. Hope this helps!

Believe me. This is NOT a new issue. The service folks denied ever having heard of the "slow fueling issue" to myself AND the wife.never good. I felt like Fred Flinstone talking with them. They blew our trust at the first oil change leaving things loose ,even a lugnut hanging off from simple rotation. They r lugnuts.lol yabadabadoo

My fueling issues finally stopped. All it took was a 1999 ford mustang fuel neck :dogpile:

I was able to fuel my truck at -35 for the first time in 10y

I've got a 2021 Bighorn. When it was 32 degrees, it took forever restarting the pump handle fueling at ~15 cents at a time. When it warmed up, it worked fine. Can the capless system be replaced with a simple cap system? Can the evaporator cannister be removed from the system?

well,2 tanks of fuel being careful not to "top "off and the fuel handle cutoff issue seems to be returning. after the new tank and neck were installed 1 month ago. i don't care what Fiat -epa design is supposed to accomplish for the tree hugging moped riders, I wish they'd take a hike on a short plank.

Do you buy your gas at the same station? I had this happening with a Silverado I used to have. I always got my gas at the local station and it kept clicking off. The attendant ( this was NJ so I didn't pump gas), kept telling me to get my truck fixed.
Finally I needed gas and went to another station and absolutely no problem. Went to a few other stations in the course of a week and still no problems. Went back to my local station and told him to get his pumps fixed and I would start buying gas from him again.
It had to due with the vapor recovery in the hose. One of the "other" stations I went to the attendant showed a trick to get it to work: turn the handle so the pump handle was facing to the sky instead of down to ground.
Now I have a diesel and never had that problem.

sticking rollover valves that r attached to a 1" filler hose permanently installed in a 2000. dollar tank. even Ford doesn't do that. Do they? Our problem with that seems to be happening again after 6 months.

I had my tank replaced due to the rollover valve. Even my 33-gallon tank was only about $250 IIRC.

While not inexpensive it is a far cry from $2K. I can see incorporating the part in a $250 "assembly" instead of individually (especially if you have to drop the tank anyway) but if it were as expensive as ChiefPepe said then IMO it would be replaceable on its own.

Anyone know who I might talk to and a phone number about the 2020 Ram fuel tank not filling, but just trickles in or pump shuts off. PLEASE don't suggest the dealership. They say they have never heard of a tank not filling fast and "NOT UNDER WARRANTY. Prefer a field rep or someone who can take care of this as the dealership says My Ram was purchased in Feb of 2020 and only has 3800 or fewer miles on it.
Thanks,

i HD A 2014 RAM 1500 AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IT WAS THE RUBBER HOSE THAT WENT FROM THE FILLER NECK TO THE TANK. IT BECVAME BENT AND WOULD ONLY ALLOW A SMALL AMOUNT OF FUEL THRU. I REPLACED THE RUBBER HOSE AND HAD NO PROBLEMS AFTER THAT. i DID ALL THE WORK MYSELF. THE DEALER COULDNT FIN D A PROBLEM SO I DID IT MYSELF. IF YOU REMOVE THE PLASTIC WHEEL LUINER ON THE SIDE OF THE TANK YOU'LL SEE THE RUBBER HOSE THAT CONNECTS THE FILLER TUBE TO THE TANK. YOU'LL ALSO SEE THAT IT IS KINKED AND ALMOST BENT SHUT. YOUI'LL GHAVE TO REPLACE THAT HOSE.

tHE ISSUE ISNT THE FILLER NECK ITS THE HOSE THAST CIONNECTS THE NECK TO THE TANK. IT BECOMES KINKED AND ONLY ALLOWS A LITTLE FUEL THRU AT A TIME. TAKE THE PLASTIC WHEEL HOUSING OUT AND YOU'LL SEETHE KINK IN THE HOSE. BUY A NEW HOSE. UITS NOT THE FILLER NECK. THEY WILL REPLACE THE NECK BUT AFTER A SHORT TIME THE HOSE WIKLL GET KINKED AGAIN. REPLACE THE HOSE. I had the same problem.!!!!!!!!!
