Good morning all, I have a 2014 ram 1500 5.7 limited and my cluster has started to ack funny. It will go bright then dim. Its not all the time, but when it does happen its constant until I turn the truck off. Acts like its going from day light to night. I took a recording of it on my phone, Here is a link to the video https://photos.app.goo.gl/GJ4kEzdahUgKtv4W9
Any ideas? I have done some searching and did go into the fuse box and made sure all fuses were pushed in all the way.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Just started happening to me also. Cycles between bright and dim about every 2-3 seconds. Not as fast as the authors video, but distracting just the same. It doesn’t happen all the time; maybe once every 2-3 days, and it always keeps it up until the ignition is off/on. Once it even continued after a trip into a store where the truck was off for 10-15 minutes.
I’ve tried rotating the dimmer switch to several different positions with no affect. In fact, the dimmer doesn’t do anything to the display brightness at all. Never has since I’ve owned the truck. The display seems to have just 2 brightness levels; bright during the day and dim at night. Almost seems like a light sensor is having trouble sensing whether it’s day or night.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Mine ended up being the cluster, I had an extended warranty that covered it,. I thought might be a sensor too, but my radio never flickered only the cluster.

I'd clean the battery teminals first, then any grounds, wiggle fuses, etc. Do a load test on the battey. I'd probably wiggle the cable connector going to the cluster and light..multifunction switch, before removing the cluster.

Chrysler parts dept *might* have a 'send it in' program where they can send it out for checking and/or repair. Or there are after market places which can repair them. But first exhaust all potential power/grounding issues and try to rule those out.

If only the screen is flickering like that and not all the cluster lights, I’d be willing to bet it’s a faulty screen in the cluster.

I’ve seen this a few times and it’s been a cluster every time. Wouldn’t hurt to check the connections at the cluster though.

Thanks everyone. I will be checking all the connections, fuses, etc.
Did some research and the good news is that a replacement 7” LCD panel is only about $100 or so.
