Hello, do they make a plug for the hole where the Shark fin goes? I can't get my 2019 Classic in the garage due to the fin. I have no problem loosing the Navigation or tracking antenna. :)

The shark fin antenna is for the satellite radio and GPS, if I'm not mistaken there is an aftermarket antenna available that's is just for GPS but doesn't have the fin part.
If bet @SitKneelBend might know for sure

You can swap the shark fin for the factory puck antenna. You'll retain SXM/GPS but loose cellular. You may want to consider a posting in the wanted section of the forum. Many remove their puck to add the sharkfin and may have one laying around they would sell. Possibly might find someone wanting to trade too.

Yep you can replace it at the radio with something like this for GPS only, but I don't think it's large enough to plug the hole in the roof if he removes the sharkfin.

Find someone with a 3D Printer & make some shark fin cover plates

I would think that once perfected, you would have no trouble finding people that would want them

a substitute for the shark fin, can be fastened to windshield in either of the lower corners

The hole for the sharkfin is not round, it is rectangular with a notch. To my knowledge, there is no "plug" available to just "plug" it. Someone mentioned a 3-d printer, maybe someone can make plugs for these and market them ?

It also has a rubber gasket at the base that gets pretty dirty underneath. I imagine that is why some folks have problems with water leaks there.

What do you mean by lose Cellular signal?
My Phone is never plugged into my truck, it has its own cellular signal.
Is that the trucks shark fin does? Boost my phones cellular signal?
or can my truck have its own cellular account?

have never used sirus, even when free.\Most times, never turn on teh radio.
Even when my 2014 had a rocking, aftermarket radio.

i am confused

The truck has a 3/4G radio (depending on year) for things like the XM Guardian/Mopar Connect subscription service, and OTA updates to the system. Losing the sharkfin kills those features. Also, truck has a hotspot. again you lose that if you delete the sharkfin.

This...I have disabled the cell signal on the internals of my radio in an attempt to prevent OTA updates. Replacing the sharkfin antenna with the puck can still leave enough wire in the truck to act as a less efficient cellular antenna. So replacing the sharkfin with the puck will cause you to lose (some) cellular reception on the radio's internal sierra wireless aircard.

Could you provide directions to disable updates to the radio via cell connectivity?
I'd feel much better knowing that my radio couldn't suddenly be bricked with some 'useless to me' update.

I updated mine to the V39.4 from the firmware thread... So I'm WELL beyond what RAM "says" I can have. (Apparently on the 4th gen '18 8.4 I shouldn't be past 22.6...)

Oh, buddy does it ever. I'm dreading it, but I know it has to happen. Right now, SiriusXM stops working entirely during rainy season... I know I'm going to have to get in there come June (when Dry Season arrives around here.)

Look at my post #12, just above
It shows the removal of the shark fin antenna
you can plainly see the hole underneath

That hole could easily be closed, or at least modified to get rid of the Fin
