I did not use anything yet

I think he was asking the OP....

And yeah PLA would be a huge waste of $$ and time. PETG, ABS, or PLA+ at a minimum.

Finally, I would also be interested in said .STL if it's something that could be acquired easily. Might not ever need it but I also don't wouldn't want to spend the time with protos if possible. Fingers Xd!

My bad. . .
I'm having a friend print some up 100% infill, and yes I do believe it is out of pla. Which should be fine.
Halogen bulbs get a lot hotter than the driver on an led, need the cover to keep out the moisture I thought the one cap being almost all the way on would be good enough it is not.

I spun mine on locking one side in and resting on the led fan, its on there solid and it gives it some air to cool off.
It makes no difference in town but on long trips when they get hot it allows them to cool and prolong the life of the bulb.
And I haven't had any moisture or dust yet.:favorites37:

If it is PLA even at 100% infill it's going to lose it's shape pretty quickly once engine bay and summer heat get to it.

PLA is good for prototyping something like this but you're gonna want this printed in PETG or ABS eventually.

PLA is OK up to about 130F. I found that parts in direct sunlight stay stable if made from or painted a light color. I have a silver painted mount on the dash of my RAM and it hasn’t melted. Going on 2 years. On the other hand I have a black emblem mounted outside and it deformed from the hot sun. ABS and PTEG are definitely better for higher heat applications.

No...my guy used PETG? thats all I know
PLA is the "easiest" to print, but basically has the temperature range of a late 2000's Honda Civic Sunvisor.

IE gets above ~120F, and gets soft to the point it basically remelts. So in a vehicle that gets parked outside ever in the spring/summer/fall, the print would not last.

PETG is supposed to be good to ~176F before it hits the "glass transition point" (when it gets too soft), so should be fine.
