I’m not on Facebook, but if this goes somewhere, I guess I’ll have to.

I would possibly be interested. I have a complete Pentastar Fan with harness, and spare fuse box with all the relays/fuses.

Did you ever do anything with the newer Canbus type V6 fan?.....old thread I know
Still working on it. The guy from rpm extreme gave me some halfway instructions on logging canbus for him so I can send him the data so he can properly program the module. I actually swapped up to the newer 5th gen hemi fan. It’s larger and more cfm than the v6 fan. There’s 2 versions but the larger heavy tow version as far as I can tell will not fit our trucks. Everything shows they use a slightly different radiator for the heavy tow package

If you get the 5th gen fan working on your truck PLEASE do a write up, I would love to install one on my truck.

The 5th gen fan runs on the same signal the pentastar fan does and fits our radiators as well. I’ve already tested it out. Only issue is the canbus signal. I need to log the canbus but work has been hectic and I don’t have the time. Plus I think my laptop isn’t working anymore so not really sure. I may need a new laptop unless someone else can do a canbus log

So I looked at my tune on HPtuners and there's an option PWM Fan controller, I'm assuming it's not as simple as selecting that right?
Unfortunately no. That’s been tried with no luck by a few other people. Not sure if Alfaobd could do it as it has an option for fan type but that would still require running an extra wire from the fan to wherever the signal comes from

Little teaser for everyone. Need a few more bits and pieces to finish the wiring. The last piece came in for the canbus testing finally though which is good news so I can hopefully get in and do the canbus test and recording data for the rpmExtreme guy. I will let everyone know though I ran an extra wire to use as a trigger from the factory fan wire as an override for this. There is a built in trigger on the module to crank the fan full blast if needed which is great.

Interesting. Does this tap into the factory PWM wire (it's inert on the Hemi trucks) on the main harness or does this bypass everything altogether?

The way this works is using the factory canbus. This module reads the factory canbus signal and uses a few different signals to figure out fan speed. Engine rpm, engine coolant temp, and ac line pressure. Otherwise it’s pretty standalone. It uses its own pwm wire to the fan. Here is a link to explain everything. This is not the one that I have installed though. The one I have is currently not available since it’s still being figured out. Here

Cool. Thanks for being a pioneer. I remember checking those guys out but never went any further after futile attempts with the dealer and greene. I need to do something with my Factory PWM fan and 3.6 fuse box/harness...

Yea. This setup will work for you after I finish. My original attempts were with the 3.6 pentastar fan so I know it can command that fan.

So somewhat good news. Going through troubleshooting and what not for the module and looking through the canbus with the guy doing the programming. We are figuring it out. Looking at the canbus logs and are narrowing down the info finally. This has been a long process but the troubleshooting has helped. We know which signals are from the pcm now which is a start. Just need to log these signals specifically and do more narrowing down to figure out what each one is. Then programming can commence and more testing. I need trucks from 2009 and newer to read the canbus and compare data to see what years this will work on. But going to finish my truck before I worry about that. I’ll see if anyone local in south Florida is interested in this module and I’ll do some testing on their truck prior to them ordering.

Ever figure this out 100%? I thought a harness was going to be needed and you were making one? Forget.

It requires some wiring soldering. I was never able to find someone willing to let me test their truck to confirm operation on trucks other than 15-17
