I changed stock tires to 275/65/20, so obviously my speedometer was off per GPS, about 5pmh at 70. So, I hooked up the AlfaOdb and just picked the closest tire size to mine that was listed. After the change it was off 2mph at 70. It was late and I didnt feel like going to the process getting the correct size in. Yes, I was being lazy. However, i drove it the next day and my speedometer was now showing dead on with the GPS speed. I got it up to 90 and it was still accurate. Ive read about some people's truck recalibrating on its own, but was skeptical. Mine is a '21 built in mid 2021, if that makes a difference. Is this a '21 thing or is it just sporadic?

I've Never heard of a truck re-calibrating itself before? My guess is your settings hadn't actually taken yet (sometimes Alfa settings take a key cycle or 2 to take affect). Or your GPS reading wasn't accurate.

Im using Waze for my GPS speed on my cellphone. Its accurate in my work car and my kids truck, so it should be accurate here.

GPS data can vary slightly. Its accuracy depends on how many satellites are connected and in what order they connect. Most devices report the % accuracy.

2mph at 70 is basically dead on. I suspect the dead on reading was due to better satellite connections.

If you were using Waze via Apple CarPlay while plugged into the media port, then the phone’s native GPS is not being used, and it will mirror the truck’s GPS for speed.

I didn't know that. I thought the truck screen was just mirroring the phone's screen and data.

I use COOL NIKS GPS Speedometer and Odometer app. Tried several, found this the best for me.
