No vehicle wearing those super wide tires is going to stop quickly or go worth a dang in snow,
I wish the tire manufactures would bring out some narrow taller tires. Some 245/85's would
be my choice.

I agree with your thoughts.

The current winter tires on my Warlock are BFG KO2s in a 245/75 R17. That was the best size I could locate at the time and they're spectacular in deep snow even running them at 42 PSI or more.

I ran Nitto recons 35x12.5R17s i got away from 17s for more load rated tire options. I will never by another set of nitto tires our weather here is too wet. I am now Running Toyo AT3 35x12.5R18 and they are load F rated and snow flake. I've been more than happy this last winter with them.
i wanted to try those recons but covid was in full swing and nobody could get them in a 35,so i went with ridge grapplers again.i took the shop almost 6 weeks to find my spare.i could only get 4 and those took almost a month.i never tried the Toyo.

Yeah covid definitely sucked and it still does lol. Discount tire was able to get me anything just took about a month. I won't go without a snowflake tire again. West coast oregon we get snow for about a week in the city and it's just in the mountains. I don't ever need a dedicated snow tire and summer we have about a month of hot weather. Bfg ko2 or toyo AT3 is my standard now.

Dinky, i was in Portland Oregon through Xmas 1966 or '67

No one could go to the hospital, unless they were in public transportation or an ambulance.

They could not keep up with the snow & ice

( They built the Hospital up on a fair size hill )

New Ram owner here I can't believe how bad this truck is in the snow. Compared to the previous two Fords I had before this, the Raptor and platinum both 150s this thing is awful it's a Ram 3500 Dually 6.7 with brand new rims brand new 37 inch tires no reason it should be such slug in the snow, obviously I have four wheel drive, this thing refuses to stop and refuses to turn just terrible. She is absolutely beautiful though, I'll give her that.
Sell it go back to ford..Great choice..

OHSU yea it goes from 200ft to 1200ft in about 2 miles lol. we don't have the road crews for snow as we only get it for 1-2 weeks max. we have a lot of hills here that are steep climbs and it shuts the everything down. there are some spots even with chains on all 4 i would not like to go down the roads lol. we get freezing rain as well and that's even funnier to watch lol. If you were actually born and raised in these parts you can drive just fine, but with all the big tech here we have a lot of transplants that cant drive for ****. people come from the east coast all the time and go oh i can drive in the snow but are the firsts ones in the ditch lmao. our snow is not powder it is very wet and slippery stuff two different types of snow.

Rubber compound and belts are so different from what's on a F-150 and a 3500 and no comparison whatsoever in traction between the two tire styles.

Due respect, a dual rear with skins like those is not meant to get through tough weather. You’d be better off with OEM tires and rims, and better off yet with singles.

Me thinks you'se guys scared the OP off. Turn the traction control off on that dually and watch the back end come around on a slick road. I'll never do that again. :D

You might try 500 pounds of block in the back, but I defer to others on the Forum who seem to know what they are talking about. Love the "Mustang, Quarter Horse and Clydesdale" analogy.

Sorry.....those tires suck in snow...... tall narrow tires work better in snow, your tires are for sand or dirt, just saying from past experience !!

I'm a bit late to this party but when I read your comment the first thing that came to mind, which others have also stated was, Tires ... With a dually you probably don't want to switch them around seasonally so I would consider getting an ALL-WEATHER tire for your rig if you can find the size you need ...
