Was interested to hear what everyone has for tires on the 22 inch wheels. I have a 2023 Limited coming in this week and was considering either a 305/45/22 or a 285/55/22 with a leveling kit. Anyone running either of these sizes and have any feedback? Interested specifically on things like fitment, ride quality, and overall likes / dislikes with either set up. Thanks in advance!

More sidewall is always a softer ride. Less wheel width gives you less rolling resistance which will help your mpg out slightly over running a wider tire.

I received my 2023 1500 Limited about a month ago and went with 285/55/22 Toyo Open Country AT III tires. They fit perfectly without a lift and I’ve been very satisfied. Speedo recalibration required.

@CRS1968 Thanks for sharing. That is the exact tire / size I had at the top of list. How are you finding it rides compared to the stock tires? From a look standpoint I think that is perfect but a little concerned with the 10 ply tire. Also really good news on it fitting without a level. Did you have any rubbing at all when you put them on?

I had stock tires replaced immediately. I’ve had various AT tires for years and these are as good as any. Really very little noise so far. With the air suspension, it rides wonderfully. Truly the most comfortable vehicle I’ve ever owned. I suspect you’ll be very happy with the larger tires. The only time they ever rubbed was when the truck didn’t raise from entry/exit level but I don’t drive in that level.

I went with 295/55/22 (35X12.2) Toyo Open Country A/T IIIs on my 2023 1500 Limited.

I also installed 2.5" front spacers with performance links compatible with the air suspension. Not sure I needed the extra lift for the tire size as I've tried lowering it to aero mode for the heck of it to check for rubbing and it is very slight on full crank to left but could probably just pull back the edge of wheel well liner a bit.

@Ramsteen23 hadn’t even considered the 295’s as I thought they may rub. Good to know it is very minimal even in aero. Do you have any pictures of these on the truck?

So I just re-checked my ride heights in front at Normal Ride Height mode and Aero mode with the 2.5" lift kit to ensure I'm giving you accurate info. Measurements are from level ground along center of wheel to bottom of fender since this is the only measurement I took at stock height in order to have a comparison. I later learned it's more accurate to measure from the center of the wheel hub to fender.

Normal Ride - 40" (24" from center hub)
Aero - 39" (23" from center hub)
Normal Ride (at stock) - 37.25" from ground

Keep in mind all of the measurements have some slight variability depending on how level the ground was but it does give you an idea of how much of a difference the 2.5" lift does make. Since the Aero mode with the lift kit is still higher than the stock Normal Ride Height I decided to measure it at Entry/Exit mode which ended up being closer to the stock Normal Ride Height at just under 37.50". The good news is there is still only minor rubbing at this height see pics below.

Hope this is helpful -

Thanks for the details and measurements. Look awesome and a percept fit with the 2.5 level. Can you comment on the ride quality of the LT tires in comparison to the stock set up?

I ride a 305/45/R22 on my lowered (3/5) Ram 1500 and the only issue i've got is the inner fender liner rubs on the top when I hit a good size bump and noticed a smidge of rubbing on the inside from the front sway bar when I do a full lock turn. It's not bad and hasn't caused any damage or issues since I noticed but I don't really mind em. For me it's getting the shocks dialed in to not feel like the front of my truck has blown shocks and just does the bounce lol

When your air ride is at its lowest (entry/exit) do you have any rubbing?
I have a 2019 limited run 285/45/22 and I’m going on my 3rd set of tires!
Thinking about going to 285/55/22.

Yes. They rub in entry/exit, but you really shouldn’t be moving at that height anyway.
