Hello All
I have a 2013 Ram 1500 tradesman 5,7 Hemi truck I absolutely love but have a problem. When the temp outside gets above 80 ( which is now in South Ga ) My truck when sitting in traffic or a lengthy drive thru will run up to about 215F open road it runs around 195-197. This does not happen in the cooler months. I recently had the water pump replaced and a new thermostat last year ( cheap one.) Anyone have any idea how to help. Thanks

2nd request for help. My 2013 1500 5.7, when the outside temp. is above 70 my truck will run a bit hot when in traffic or sitting in a drive-thru 215 ,when driving it's a constant 194 only does this when temp is above 70 degrees F.
My heater does not work when it's cold outside but works when temp is above 60 F. My blend door actuators move all the time even when no key in ignition but do not move at all on or off when outside temp is below 60. These gremlins are driving me MAD. I have reset the computer and had them recalibrated. HELP PLEASE?????

Sitting still or in traffic 215 sounds about right. It actually would not be odd to see it get to 220 until the fan clutch kicks in and lowers it back down. The heater not working may be that the heater core is partially clogged? Or the blend door isn't working.

Possible mixture of different types of coolant with gel affect clogging radiator & heater core.

First thing would be do a radiator flush. Should be done anyway. Really not out of range but mine sitting in traffic usually stays at 201-203f in 70f-80f. Doing a flush may get it back lower. If it was the thermostat I feel would be consistently higher not just sitting in traffic.
