well, i have a 2017 ram 1500 5.7 with bumper to bumper extended warrenty. the oil pan is rotted through and since this is a rust problem the factory wont cover it. The truck has 44,000 miles on it. it leaks out a quart a night, its junk. the dealer in pickford wants 1,200 bucks to replace so i found a good shop to do it 300 bucks cheaper. tired of junk chinese parts going into these trucks. i will be looking a lot closer at engine sheet meatal before buying another truck.

2019 Ram Rebel Hemi 5.7 with 56000km engine oil pan rusted badly, the dealer is taking pictures of the rusted oil pan on Jan 9/24 to send to FCA for goodwill consideration. Not holding out much hope. Is there a better oil pan than OEM? and any idea of the cost to replace oil pan in eastern Canada. I live in an area that is heavily salted in the winter time.

I've never stumbled across a better pan for the trucks, that's not to say there isn't one available, just saying i've never seen one.To bad they weren't more like the cars oil pan,it's a heavy cast aluminium pan,but it won't fit a truck because of the differances in the sump portion, cars are front sump, trucks are rear sump

An Aluminum oil pan would be a better replacement, I'm looking for a better option than the OEM which rust out with less than 56000km. Are there any aftermarket oil pan that are better than OEM?

An Aluminum oil pan would be a better replacement, i don't see any aftermarket aluminum oil pans available. The steel oil pan don't do well when you live in the salt belt of eastern Canada. Dorman makes a oil pan for the Hemi 5.7 I don't know if the are any better?

Same here... 2019 Ram Bighorn with 100kmi and the oil pan is almost completely rusted through.
Wowzers my 2006 spent 11 winters on the salty covered roads of north IA and central MN, then 3 years in OR including many visits the ocean beech and when I sold it in 2021 with over 110K it had no oil pan problems ( new owner inspected it very well because it lived on salt covered roads for 11 years) last I heard its still chugging along in the Seattle area without any problems, so I wonder either they went to cheaper metal or the fact I washed the underside of my truck every change I could when temps were above zero in the winter time is the difference...

Getting your vehicle Crown or Rust Check treated goes a LONG ways to helping stop the crap they use on our roads from eating into the truck's metal parts. I try to keep my vehicles really clean all winter, and that helps, but the oil spray treatment really does make a difference.
