After just getting hung up on by a Ram Customer care representative, I do not know what to do here. I'd like the community's advice here.

TLDR; I have had a vehicle that is under warranty and cannot be registered with the state due to recalls that Ram has been negligent on for 5 months. I have been completely blown off. What would you do?

Back story - I have a 2019 Ram 2500 CTD and live in California. Recall W03 (transmission valve body) is open on my vehicle. I went to reregister my vehicle with the state and was informed that I cannot, due to an open recall. I contacted my local dealership, Thompson CDJR out of Placerville California, and scheduled an appointment.

1st attempt at making an appointment is in September 2022. About a month later, at the time of the appointment, I was told they did not get the parts and the appointment must be rescheduled. I scheduled another appointment as soon as possible - about a month later.

2nd attempt, I simultaneously scheduled an appointment with Folsom CDJR. They did the same thing Thompson CDJR did. At the time of the appointment it was cancelled due to parts not being delivered to the dealership.

10-20-2022 I submitted two attempts at contacting Ram Cares through their submission form on their website about this issue explaining what just happened with both attempts at getting service. I never received any response. I got an email to rate the service I was given. I gave it all zeros since they ignored me.

11-8-2022 Ram Cares calls me in response to my poor review of their service. It was a Case manager named Kathy. I explain the whole situation to her. She confirmed that Ram does indeed have parts available and she then contacted Thompson CDJR and worked with them on coordinating parts and an appointment. Thompson CDJR called me and said they will get it done, and scheduled an appointment for 12-8-2022.

3rd Attempt, on 12-6-2022, 2 days before my 12-8-2022 appointment, Thompson CDJR calls me to tell me they don't have parts for the W03 recall. I reschedule ASAP. Closest date is 1-08-2023.

12-6-2022 I call Ram Cares and speak with a woman in which I explain the previous events, give her my case number, and ask her to have the Case Manager, Kathy, to call me back. NO PHONE CALL WAS RETURNED.

12-22-22 I called Ram Cares and spoke with a gentleman explaining my situation, gave him my case number, and told him to have my case manager call me back. NO PHONE CALL WAS RETURNED.

12-30-22 Ram Cares called me informing me that I have 3 open recalls and asks if I am willing to come in. I explain I have been more than willing and have made 3 attempts, but every time there has been a lack of parts being ordered. I explain that at this time I would like financial compensation since my vehicle has been deadlined due to Rams inability to perform the recall. He offers be "free tire rotations and oil changes"
I said I will have to consult lawyer at this point to seek advice.
He puts me on about a 8 second hold, comes back and says "All we can offer you is free tire rotations and oil changes. I am closing the case out at this time. Have a good day" and hangs up on me before I can respond.

1-04-2022 (SEE BOTTOM FOR UPDATE) will be the 4th attempt at getting the recall done, and the 5th month that my truck will have been illegal to drive. I have been making payments on a vehicle that has been a brick in my front yard for 5 months and have been completely blown off by customer service.

What would you do??? I have made an incredible amount, and variety, of attempts to get this service completed and have been completely ignored. I feel like my only option is to seek a lawyer and pursue this legally. Keep in mind, my payment on this truck is ~$750 a month and it has been deadlined/unregisterable with the state for 5 months and illegal to drive.

This has been an absolutely terrible experience with Ram Customer Service.

1-4-2023 EDIT TO ADD additional info.
On 1-3-2023 my dealership called me to confirm my 4th appointment attempt for 1-4-2023. I asked "do you have parts available?" because the last time they called me to confirm my appointment and they didn't even realize they didn't have parts. Sure enough, they did not have parts and cancelled the appointment. I was told I will be called back when parts arrive. So I am left indefinitely without a legal vehicle.

I posted this thread on @RamCares profile page on 12-30-2022. They responded yesterday asking me to DM them. DM sent on 1-3-2023. No reponse yet.
I just got my transmission recall done after a month. I went to a different dealer where I had a friend in the service department. I would have bought the truck there except they don’t stock Fidel rams. I hadn’t bought a new vehicle in years and it has really changed for the worse but I think it must go with the times. I really wonder if it’s all makes or just Chrysler. I may read on some of these other forums and see. Thank you all for allowing me to comment

It's everyone as far as dealerships I think. My first of four transmissions in my Ford van blew in warranty. My regular guys (not a dealer) towed it to Ford. Ford says they have no one around now that works on transmissions. Tell me I can have it towed to another dealer and try them. My freaking truck is my shop! I ended up having it rebuilt on my dime but it was back in two days. One of my biggest fears about pulling the trigger on a new Ram is having to be locked into a dealer for any warranty issues. Worse yet none near me even have loaner cars! They haul you to some rental joint I guess. I would qualify for that Ram Business Link but who knows if that is what they claim it to be either.

Last time I had a vehicle in for warranty work and needed a loaner the dealership took you to Enterprise and FCA paid for it they said it saved them $$$$$ doing it that way...

I have Business Link
When my rear differential went bad, dealership screw up
they told me that no one was available to work on it.
I asked them to get in touch with the Business Link shop.
They did, but it did not do any good, they shared the same Technician

so i never had the chance to see how Business Link worked

This is a sign of the times , recalls and can't get parts or no solution . Some recalls are more serious than others but they all need to be dealt with at some point.
Not to understate your treatment , but the dealers are stuck in the middle and they're getting crap from both sides . Corporate office says fix it and no support and you want it fixed and they have no parts .
What needs to happen is manufacturers must be held accountable to address recalls in a timely matter or pay up.
When push comes to shove they will come up with a bs fix like welding the drag links so it doesn't come loose , cheap bs repair but it worked .
I wish you luck , and when lawyers get involved they are the only ones that win.
Hello,

Please know our team is on your side and wants to support you to the best of our ability. We're happy to share your feedback with the appropriate teams regarding how we evaluate these concerns in the future.

Ever think it’s the operator and not the manufacture.

How do you need 4 transmissions, we see this with employees who are tear a$$es on equipment. One employee never has an issue and one employee destroys it, same exact product, year model build dates in order.

Funny part, give the tear a$$ the other vehicle and now it has issues and the original vehicle with problems is fine.

Hummmmm.

That & only that, is the reason that businesses that have multiple employees driving vehicles, even Heavy Earth Moving Equipment no longer have Standard Transmissions, everyone switched to Automatics.
When 2 or more Drivers or Operators operate a Standard Shift Transmission, they equipments clutch takes a beating.

Some companies that rely on a piece of equipment that that is Clutch Driven, delegate 1 or 2 people to operate it, if they are away, no one is allowed to touch it.

A Ferris Wheel at a Carnival is usually Clutch Driven, another clutch driven piece of equipment, is a remote mobile power plant that is located in a 28' trailer that is pulled by a semi truck.
They have 2 engines in the trailer, the first engine may be the size of a semi trucks engine, once it is fired up & warmed up, a clutch is used to engage a 2nd huge engine that is connected to a Generator & that is the size of a narrow garage.

Why put up with all that crap? As I read and interpret this story, you exhibit a certain emotional energy. It's an inanimate object... a depreciating liability! I'd postulate that your patience is all but gone!

It might be fair to advise you to "simply" get rid of the truck, but, I might say that there is more than one way to solve problems. This begs the question... "How persistent are you?" And, I'd put myself in your shoes and ask myself how to solve the problem.

Maybe you can get the truck fixed out of your locale; perhaps in another state. (Desperate times call for desperate measures)
"Where there's a will, there's a way"...

Take action. Find the part SOMEWHERE and BUY the damned thing! Take it AND the truck to the dealer to have it fixed. Document every word, burp, fart, or hiccup which goes on between you and whom ever. Use your phone to film interactions at the dealer. If legal, record your conversations.

If need be, have a certified facility install the part. That may or may not help in the face of proper chain of custody of the part and/or how getting the truck certified by the state as to it's being "safe" after using an alternate plan of action to get it fixed.

Another resolution might be to consult an attorney and get an advocate on your side. Fighting a big entity is daunting. Perhaps another brand of vehicle next time? Who knows!?

These horror stories and the upcoming details of DOIP keep me well away from new or newer vehicles. (DOIP is "Diagnostics over internet protocol") This DOIP will entail "Big Brother" aspect of the manufacturer being notified every time your vehicle is connected to a scanner.... even in your own yard! I wonder if there is any R2R anymore.

This is what I would do if this option is available. Register the truck in a state and county that doesn't have all the restrictions. Maybe at a family members home address. You can do an address change online for your license. Once registered, go back to CA and drive it until your recall can be fixed. I hope this is an option. We live in CA also but are relocating out of state later this year. We came form Arizona. Outside of Maricopa county vehicles don't need emissions and you can register your vehicle without problems if you have a property in a different county. I know a few people who have deleted their Rams and register them out of county. Just a thought. good luck.
