Aftenoon all, first time posting to this forum, wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem or have a fix? About a month ago the battery in my truck would be dead randomly, come to find out after truck is turned off the dash lights woukd remain on until it killed the battery. Ive used the temp fix (disconnect battery wait a few minutes then reconnect) and its worked fine. Again today its started it all.over again, going in for a recall on Thursday and I asked them to take a look but would really like to see if anyone else has had this happen and what the fix was. Last posts I had seen was a few years ago. 2013 Dodge Ram Laramie

If pulling the fuse 60 in underhood fuse box fix's the problem it is probably because there has been water intrusion into the I 230 connector just below the pass side hood hinge (big connector with a bale on the side to open it. you will find corrosion on 2 pins the under hood lamp feed which is fuse 60 and a ign pwr.

Mines been doing it for a bit now. Tracked mine to fuse f94, the shifter / transfer case module. Pulling the fuse fixed it for a couple days, guess I'll unug the transfer case module see if it goes away. Or I guess it could be the rotory shifter as well.

Started having the dash light problem last night, opened the I 230 connector and it was full of water. Used contact cleaner and Q-tips to clean it up, reconnected the battery and so far the lights are out. We'll see.... Thanks for the info.

Been dealing with same issue on my 2014 1500, started a couple weeks ago battery was dead one morning all of sudden, replaced with new then next day new one was dead. Figured it had to be something more to it. Started with the usual searches on the innerweb. Used an AMP meter in line while pulling fuses then realizing that it wasn't any one certain fuse I started measuring millivolts across each fuse which lead me to the F49 being the culprit and confirmed it was the back light on the dash gauge cluster. Also tried removing the Heat control module with no luck. After fearing the worst came upon this and a similar post which lead me to check the I 203 connector and sure enough it had water in it and had some corrosion. Thoroughly dried out the connectors with a heat gun then cleaned with some deoxit, applied some dielectric grease on the connectors and off to the races. Will know for certain tomorrow if it works !

2016 Ram 2500 Cummins SLT lone star.
AC control module was the corporate in my situation. Dash cluster stayed on and drained the battery every night.
$180 part!
